Studio lighting set up?

Studio lighting set up? Hi. I hope someone here can help me? I’m looking to kit out a photography studio to hire. It’s a daylight studio, however there is the option to black out the room so I’m looking to invest in some studio lighting. The lighting should appeal to as a wide range of photographers as possible – e-Commerce, fashion, head shots, portraits etc. I don’t …

When characters visit a movie studio in a TV show episode, do they use their own studio?

When characters visit a movie studio in a TV show episode, do they use their own studio? Was watching Psych and they are working on a case that involves a movie studio and was wondering if tv shows will use their own studios for those scenes, or if they will use a different one? I figured if a studio is filled with things related to the TV show itself then maybe they would have to use a different one or spend a while hiding things. …

Should I buy a studio Apartment?

Should I buy a studio Apartment? Hi everyone, I’m (27M) wondering if I should buy a studio apartment in DC for 200k. I’m tired of renting, but I can’t afford much more than 200k mortgage. I make 90k a year and my monthly debts are about 1800, (Car, student loans, insurance) I know studios don’t really gain value and but wouldn’t I be better off to half my payment going to equit…

Studio Strobe Lights, small Home Studio, around 300-500€ what options do I have?

Studio Strobe Lights, small Home Studio, around 300-500€ what options do I have? Hey guys! I’m currently looking for a strobe light to use in my not really spacious homestudio. I’m kind of overwhelmed with all the names and numbers I see. One of the biggest factors I’ve understood by now is the “shutter speed(?!?)”. That most of the models around 200€ pretty much only have 1/16 but that you need 1/32 or even 1/64 to have th…

Most Studio Albums Are Over Produced

Most Studio Albums Are Over Produced I’ve been attending a lot of live music lately at festivals. So I’m seeing bands that I don’t know well. Live they sound amazing. When I listen to the same music on their albums – it just doesn’t hold up. I recently read an interview with Tommy Shannon, bassist for Stevie Ray Vaughan where he said that on their seminal album Texas Flood, they di…

How can I recreate this studio lighting? Hi, I’m trying to recreate soft lighting that is similar to these images. How can I approach this? My current kit for lighting is 3 Godox AD300 Pro flash lights and a Godox QR-P70 softbox. Where would I place the lights and how many to use? What output power setting on the lights should I be using? Thank you. submitted by /u/jenni_88

Songs you heard a studio version of and liked, but then saw a live video (in-studio or concert) then just went OMG this song freaking rules? Name song(s) that you knew you liked when you heard the studio version, but then later saw the artist perform it, either in-studio (such as in their own studio, or on KEXP, Tiny Desk, that kind of thing) or a concert video and went nuts for the song cause how much greater it is when played live? submitted by /u/brettjv
