The new show “Eric,” starring Benedict Cumberbatch, is practically the same as the 2017 show “Happy,” starring Christopher Meloni. They basically are. In Happy, Meloni sees a little girl’s imaginary friend, who begs him to help find her. In the show, he is an ex-cop, a bum, a boozer, and a total asshole. He is also a hitman.
