How to update/spruce up an old fireplace? We don’t like the fake brick veneer. My wife wants to replace it with some tiles and get rid of the gold accents and I am reluctant. I feel like a half wall with tiles is strange. But we have to do something as we both hate it as it is. Any advice/opinion is welcome! submitted by /u/kolar014
