Why are there no solos in pop songs (anymore)? I brought this up in another thread about how there are “zero bands” in the top of the charts. To clarify that quoted bit, many (though not all) of those songs will still be played by live musicians with instruments, but they are credited to just one person, the singer, and the other musicians may have no long-term association with that singer. …
