Shutter speed? I have the T7 and waiting on my nifty fifty to arrive. I was out getting familiar with it using kit lens and wondering why I am having exposer issues. I half press shutter in auto and see what is sets things at and then set manual to match. However, the photo is always over exposed in daylight and under exposed indoors on manual. Why does it not…

Shutter speed reciprocal rule?

Shutter speed reciprocal rule? For sharp images, I’ve read to use a reciprocal of your focal length at the bare minimum, but I’ve also read to double the focal length, and use the reciprocal of that. So for example, if you’re using a 70mm, you wouldn’t want to go slower than 1/140. I was wondering what people here prefer, or typically use? submitted by /u/Burakoli821 …

Why does mechanical shutter remove rolling shutter effect?

Why does mechanical shutter remove rolling shutter effect? Can someone explain why a mechanical shutter completely removes rolling shutter effect on digital cameras? I know rolling shutter effect is due to a slow sensor readout speed, but why would a mechanical shutter fix that? Wouldn’t the sensor still have to read out at the same speed after the shutter closes? submitted by /u/itislegday

Should I use slow shutter sync?

Should I use slow shutter sync? I’m going to take a picture of a friend (“the model”) in his apartment. Right now I have two speed lights (just got a second), an umbrella, a soft box, and two light stands. My plan is to use one speed light as the key light and the other as fill. My concern is that the area of his apartment behind him will have very little definition or detail,…

Min Shutter Speed not working?

Min Shutter Speed not working? Maybe I’m not understanding what the settings are, but when I’m using this mode, shouldn’t the slowest shutter speed allowed be the 1/100s that I set? Why when I back out to go shoot does it slow it down to 1/80 or even 1/60? submitted by /u/Former_Gamer_
