HDR on sensor?

HDR on sensor? One thing struck me today as I was photographing and stitching together images: when a camera might have 50 MP, why do they all have to be exposed the same? The aperture of course has to be the same, but shutters are more and more electronic these days. Can’t iso or electronic shutter speed be “modulated” across rows of pixels? It could either g…

Scratched sensor Sony a6000

Scratched sensor Sony a6000 Hi all, Yesterday I bought my first camera ever, a used Sony a6000. I noticed there were a few specks of dust and a smudge on the sensor itself. The seller included a Zeiss lens cleaning kit so I thought I’d just clean it, no biggie. Well after a bit of research I decided to buy a VSGO apsc sensor cleaning kit (swabs + liquid). After watching a …

Is the sensor ruined? Recently I found my photos contain some black spots and later I found some sort of oily dirt on the sensor unit of my A6000. In the first try it did removed the oily dirt but left a tiny spot. Then I trie…

Is my sensor scratched?

Is my sensor scratched? I’ve got an older Canon 60D (not a photographer at all, just like to muck around every now and then), and noticed a consistent line (bendy, not straight) across the top right hand corner of my photos which didn’t use to be there. It’s there on every lens I have, so not a lens issue. I’ve used a blower to clear away any dust but no change. Wonder…
