Are these stars or sensor noise?

Are these stars or sensor noise? I’ve taken this photo and edited it on LR to make these “stars” visible. I’m not sure if they’re actual stars or just the sensor grain made more visible or something. If either, what gives it away? ISO 100, 1/100, f/8, 105mm. submitted by /u/0oidy

Some questions about sensor cleaning?

Some questions about sensor cleaning? I want to buy some sensor cleaning supplies to be able to clean the sensor on my own. I have a few questions in mind for you photographers that clean their own sensors: 1. Do you use wet or dry swabs? What are the pros and cons of each method and if you use dry, what cleaning fluid do you use? 2. Is there any risk in buying “generic” swabs onlin…

Streaks on sensor wont go away?

Streaks on sensor wont go away? Streaks appeared after first time swabbing this sensor. They somehow “disappear” after using a new swab with sensor cleaning fluid then reappear days later. I don’t think they are scratches though as I am very careful with not reusing swabs and using a blower first. submitted by /u/Zexceed_9

Has anyone ever been able to deal with stubborn dirt or fungus spots on the glass above the CMOS sensor that refuses to come off even with the correct sensor swabs and cleaning solutions?

Has anyone ever been able to deal with stubborn dirt or fungus spots on the glass above the CMOS sensor that refuses to come off even with the correct sensor swabs and cleaning solutions? Canon EOS Rebel T3i sensor has some dirty areas and spots that might be fungus which refuse to come off regardless of how many APS-C sensor cleaner swabs and cleaning solutions I use. These were present in the camera BEFORE I used any solution and this sensor was in worse shape when I first received it. I could attribute this to fungus because …

Is there debris on my sensor?

Is there debris on my sensor? I’ve shot thousands of photos on my Nikon D500 but just started noticing what looks like debris on my latest (please see attachment). I tried multiple lenses and it’s still there which leads me to believe it’s on the sensor or mirror. I cleaned the mirror with a brush and then lifted the mirror and cleaned the sensor with the brush. Any advice o…

Sensor damage?

Sensor damage? Hello everyone, tonight I was taking a series of photos for a fashion show with my sony alpha iv. When I got home I looked at them again and noticed that at the top edges these colored marks appear in the mac previews. The camera had not suffered any bumps so much that I found myself from one photo to the next with this problem. Opening the file…

Is my camera sensor damaged?

Is my camera sensor damaged? Everytime I use a strobe, I get this dark part on the side of the photo and not sure what’s causing it. Pictures without strobe have no issues though and using my smaller flash I don’t run into this issue either so not sure at this point. Camera is Sony a7IV. submitted by /u/Conscious_Intern1526

HDR on sensor?

HDR on sensor? One thing struck me today as I was photographing and stitching together images: when a camera might have 50 MP, why do they all have to be exposed the same? The aperture of course has to be the same, but shutters are more and more electronic these days. Can’t iso or electronic shutter speed be “modulated” across rows of pixels? It could either g…
