Hotel room cooking I’m currently traveling for work, and will be for the next few months and it really makes me miss good homemade food. I get per diem for food so eating isn’t a problem, I just hate not being able to cook for weeks at a time. Is there anyone else out there in a similar situation that has any advice for cooking at the hotel? Would a single eye h…
LPT Next time you sit down to watch a movie or episode for the first time, make leaving your phone in the other room part of your routine. Get snacks, your drink, dim the lights, and put your phone in the room next door. This is something I started doing a while back. I get my snacks ready, my drink, dim the lights.. and the last thing I do it put my phone in the other room. This stops me from Googling anything about the show which springs to mind, distractions or just mindlessly picking up the phone during a ‘slow’ part of the show. It might seem obvious and pe…
A Trump Will Be in the Debate Spin Room (for Biden) Mary Trump, Donald J. Trump’s estranged niece, is among the half-dozen representatives that the Biden campaign is deploying to the spin room on Thursday.
Thoughts on living room seating Hi all, first time poster here. We just moved into a Victorian home with an open concept living/dining area. Initially our thoughts were to use a couch and loveseat to demarcate living space by arranging the furniture as seen in the photo below. However, the loveseat positioning actually makes the space look smaller IMO and I’m wondering if it’s…
Which rug for family room? Sorry for the clutter – we’re just moving in. The paper light on the far wall isn’t staying. There will be a light grey sectional on the right side of the room facing a TV on the left wall. submitted by /u/RoadBiscuit
LPT before you unpack in your hotel room, check your room’s: water pressure, water temperature, facilities, and HVAC. If there’s a major problem with one of them, it’s easier to move to a new room while you’re still packed. I travel a lot for work and have been pretty lucky over the years. But in the last few trips I’ve taken I’ve had no hot water and facilities that would not work. Both of them required me to swap rooms as they couldn’t be fixed there and then, and luckily, I had unpacked so it took me a couple minutes to move versus having to pack up and move ev…

Before and after laundry room Remodeled our laundry room a few months ago. There was not enough storage and it wasn’t very functional. Replaced the flooring with some black tiles from floor and decor, new recessed lighting, built ins for a ton of storage, and raised the height of the washer/dryer so we could get a basket underneath the doors. Curtain from wayfair. Paint is S…
Help me style this room This is the main dining room at my work and it needs some improvements. The guests often say it looks like a cafeteria, and due to the wood floors, it’s very echoey, leading to a very loud atmosphere. There is minimal decor and because most of the walls are windows, I’m stuck on how to improve the space. Big area rugs might help with the sound, …
What should I do to the walls to make the living room/dining room look less empty? I live in a condo and the kitchen flows into the dining area which is also the living room. I was initially thinking trims throughout the walls but that might be overkill. Suggestions on ideas? I like minimalist and modern submitted by /u/Ok-Willingness6763
Guest room advice Hi y’all! Since my student loans need paying off, I’m in the process of transforming my unused office room into a guest room which I’m planning on renting out to paying guests via Airbnb and similar platforms. The guests will have access to this room, the bathroom and the kitchen but I want to keep my living room and bedroom (obviously) private…
What colors work well in this room? Hi all, I am trying to figure out what sort of area rug/sheet and duvet colors to go for in this apartment bedroom. I’ll be furnishing from scratch. The photo in this image looks more reddish but in person the carpet is a mulberry color. What sorts of colors would pair well so the room doesn’t look too dark? submitted by /u/Icy_Reference_…
