I was asked to consigning a Loan

I was asked to consigning a Loan I was asked to cosign a loan earlier today and now read a bit into it. I would like to ask if i understand this correctly. From what i can gather the general consensus is never cosign a loan unless you can afford and are willing to basically gift the other person the money anyway. And at that point there is no reason to even do the loan. Is that…

Should I get a second personal loan?

Should I get a second personal loan? I was in car accident in June and totalled my car, while still making payments on it. The hospital bills are piling up, and the car insurance for the car I bought is almost 400 a month, I’m assuming because of my crash record, and it’s a high risk vehicle for being an easy theft. Anyway. I’m paying $391 a month for car insurance, $262 a month fo…

What’s the difference between a mortgage broker, loan originator, loan officer?

What’s the difference between a mortgage broker, loan originator, loan officer? I am a first time home buyer and asked two real estate agents for mortgage broker recommendations. All of the recommendations turned out to be lenders after talking with them, some loan originators, officers, etc. Is it normally this difficult to find a mortgage broker, and is it really necessary to talk to one? Reddit generally seems to recomme…

Pay off 20k student loan at 6% or use that for a down payment?

Pay off 20k student loan at 6% or use that for a down payment? Hi, Title says it all. Essentially, I am living with family cheaply now to save some money, and told them I’d be out by next summer. I’m debating whether it makes more sense for me to use the money saved now to pay off the 20k student loan I have at 6%, or save that for a down payment on a condo. I know mortgage rates are higher than 6% now, and…

When to put money towards car loan

When to put money towards car loan Hi all, Just bought my first car with a 4 year, 3.9% loan. I got a sign on bonus from work and want to dedicate at least 5k towards the car payments. I was thinking of putting it in an Hysa and waiting until I’ve made enough payments that the bonus money is able to completely pay off my loan. That way I can make some extra interest since the mon…

My dad took a loan against my whole life policy

My dad took a loan against my whole life policy I’ll start by saying my dad has made some less than perfect financial decisions in his life. He’s also tough to talk to. I tried to discuss this issue with him and wasn’t able to make any progress, which is why I’m asking you all about it. When I was a baby, my dad took out a whole life insurance policy on me. It’s not a large policy, but I had …

Just saw that my student loan interest rates are all LOWER than the interest rate on my savings account. Should I just make minimum payments on the student loan instead of paying it off

Just saw that my student loan interest rates are all LOWER than the interest rate on my savings account. Should I just make minimum payments on the student loan instead of paying it off I’m able to pay off all of my student loans now, ~20k. However, I’m wondering if it makes sense to do so when my savings account’s interest rate is almost a full percentage point higher on average. Is there a reason for me to pay off the full loan now or should I just keep the money in savings? submitted by /u/Jacobie23
