Opteka lenses What are your opinion about Opteka lenses. I was checking out some on the page and I found them quite cheap, maybe not for professional shooting but for casual. Are they good quality ? submitted by /u/sac_506

I feel some of my lenses might be redundant. Can you have a look? I recently sold my Canon M5 for a Canon RP. I’ve been having lots of fun, but I’m under the impression that some of my lenses are just there, being redundant. I have the following: RF 50mm 1.8 RF 24-105mm f4-7.1 RF 600mm f11 RF 16mm 2.8 EF 100mm f2 I was thinking the 24-105 as a bit extra considering I already have the 100mm f2. What do you thi…
Sigma lenses from 2001 still worth it repairing? Hey guys, it’s my first post here! So my coworker sold me a camera bag and “gave” me a couple of items that he brought from Japan back in 2001 with him that he barely used: Canon Kiss III Sigma Zoom 28-80mm 1 : 3.5 – 5.6 macro Sigma 70-300mm 1 : 4 – 5.6 DL macro super Context: I’m new to photography, last month I bought a Canon T5i from a frie…
Looking for a New Body for these Lenses. Suggestions? submitted by /u/These_Swimming2484
Should I invest more on body or lenses? I’m really interested in photography and everything related to it’s methods, but something I really need to figure out is: Expensive body or expensive lenses? For better context, I’m a big amateur so far, because of that i’ll try to keep my budget low for now (the prices on my country are way too high), and I clearly need recommendations. su…
Moment’s T-Series lenses give your smartphone’s camera superpowers Moment lenses from left to right: Macro 10x, Fisheye 14mm, Tele 58mm, Wide 18mm | Photo by Wes Davis / The VergeMoment’s smartphone lenses are, in theory, perfect for people like me. I love taking pictures and have wanted to try more serious photography for a long time, but nicer DSLR cameras are expensive, bulky, and intimidating. The new T-Se…
Have anyone used these lenses? They’re quite cheap and I am wondering are they good? submitted by /u/LowKeyPhotographer
Doubts abt lenses So obviously if u have a APS-C sensor it multiples the focal length by 1.6 (in my case). So when I was going through lenses to buy it says 24-70mm APS-C lens. My doubt is that whether this focal length is after the 1.6x crop or is it just the normal focal length which means the actual focal length will be approx 38-112mm submitted by /u/N…
Hiya, I’m fairly new to photography and for the life of me can’t figure out how to find lenses to suit my needs, I have a Nikon D3400 and want to do macro photography (similar to the images shared) which lenses & setting will best help me achieve this type of photography, Thanks submitted by /u/Imightbeimmortal
How do phones with multiple lenses cast the image on the sensor? I’m guessing each lens is designed to cast the image on a specific angle so that it is properly caught by the sensor? Just something that came to my mind earlier today, since the multiple lenses means that there is not one lens directly above the sensor but rather multiple lenses all at offset positions from the sensor. submitted by /u/im…
Why don’t we use telecentric lenses in photography? I know telecentric lenses are very expensive (though regular lenses can get quite expensive as well) and that you’d probably need very long exposures with telecentric lenses at longer distances. I still feel like there should be a use of telecentric lenses in photography, not only in the common industrial uses. Maybe they can’t really replace te…
Is there an Optical Snoot Projector that accepts Sony E-Mount Lenses? Hey everyone! I’m interested in experimenting with an optical snoot projector setup in my photography but it seems that they all use EF mount lenses to focus the beam. I’m a Sony shooter, and thus would love to be able to use my existing collection of lenses to manipulate the size of the projection (rather than having to buy Cannon EF mount lens…

Tips on lens or lenses to use for the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade Good day everyone… I know it’s early to be thinking about this, but has anyone ever photographed the Macys Thanksgiving Day parade? If you have, what lens or lenses would you recommend using to photograph the parade? I will be using a Sony A7III or a A7C, and 2 lenses I was thinking about using are a 24-105mm, and possibly a 100-400mm lens… Any …
Guys what do you think should i buy used or new lenses ? submitted by /u/hammomy
A question about lenses When I initially got my 35mm analog SLR camera in the 1990s, the most popular lens combination for amateur photographers was two zoom lenses: a conventional wide angle and a tele zoom. Then, in addition to the regular 50mm f/1.8 Nikkor, I purchased a 28-70mm f/2.8-4 Sigma and a 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 Sigma. I recall the 50mm being really unpopular. …
Pack lenses vertically in bag I use a messenger bag (Patagonia lightweight Travel 15l Courier Bag) with an Ape Case insert. I usually pack a Canon R6 and lenses: RF 16mm f/2.8 RF 24mm f/1.8 RF 35mm f/1.8 RF 50mm f/1.8 However I don’t like that when I pack two lenses one on top of the other they are a bit loose and smashing against each other. I use separators horizontally….

PS : Don’t mind EF lenses as well will use it with an adapter. submitted by /u/ham9615

Inexpensive Lenses vs. Expensive Lenses I am a portrait and wedding photographer and I am trying to figure out the difference between expensive and inexpensive lenses and where I can save money. For example right now I am looking at the Sony FE 85mm f1.8 lens that is 600.00 and then the he Sony FE 85mm f1.4 GM lens being at 1,800.00. But in general I would like to know is there speci…
