Something’s wrong with my lens

Something’s wrong with my lens The first photo is taken by Sigma f2.8 17-50mm lens The second one is taken by the Canon 50mm f1.8 lens I don’t understand why the light is bleeding in the first photo. I’d like my photos to be as clear as the second photo. FYI I took these at the same time, same place. Is there something wrong with my lens or is it just like this? submitted…

Does Canon have more than one 28-200mm lens? MPB said I misidentified a lens and they significantly adjusted the price downward.

Does Canon have more than one 28-200mm lens? MPB said I misidentified a lens and they significantly adjusted the price downward. All my gear is from Nikon. A friend of mine gave me a Canon 50mm lens and a Canon 28-200mm lens. Since I don’t have a Canon camera, I offered to sell them to MPB. They offered me $65 for the 50mm 1.4 USM, but said the manual focus is stiff and lowered the price to $19. With the 28-200, they offered me $70, but adjusted it down to $30 because “th…

Macro Lens Advice – Nikon D5100

Macro Lens Advice – Nikon D5100 Hi everyone. New to the hobby. I’m interested in buying a used macro lens for my Nikon D5100. Looking around on KEH.com, many of the lenses come with an alert saying the autofocus won’t work on my particular camera, due to it not having a built-in focus motor. My question is, how do I know which lenses will and won’t have the capability to auto…

How can I secure a lens on a tripod without a lens collar?

How can I secure a lens on a tripod without a lens collar? I have an old Nikon 80-200 f4.5 and there are no tripod collars for it. There is a collar for the lens adapter I’m using, but the only seller with it in stock has blocked me. I don’t feel comfortable attaching my camera to the tripod because the lens is so heavy. submitted by /u/Rebubliccountry

Lens comparison

Lens comparison Hi, I am looking to replace my Sony E PZ 16-50mm f/3,5-5,6 OSS with Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-50mm f/3.5-6.3 EZ. How do these two compare to eachother optically? I know that the Olympus one packs a bunch of features (most of which I am interested in using, the electric zoom doesn’t scratch an itch due to me not being much of a videographer)….

Vintage Canon Lens: What does the condition look like to you?

Vintage Canon Lens: What does the condition look like to you? I am just getting into vintage lenses. I know the glass sometimes have internal issues that can be hard to fix. Does this look like dirt/dust on the inside or outside to you? Might be an impossible question, but I figured I’d ask before spending the money without any second opinions. Thank you in advanced! submitted by /u/AWellRespectedA…

35mm lens

35mm lens Hopefully I’m okay to ask this but I didn’t really know where else to ask. This is probably a daft question but I’ve been out of photography for so long, am only just getting back into it and I’m a bit stumped. If a venue has a rule that a camera cannot have more than a 35mm lens what exactly does that mean? As I have a Sony rx100 vii and I’ve…

I don’t have much money right now so I’m thinking about buying a Mirror 500mm f8 or f6.3 or a 420-80mm f8-16 bothered Manual focus and would be delivered with the T2 to Pentax K mount adaptor. 24mm lens

24mm lens I’m after some advice on a 24mm prime lens. I have a 45mm prime, and was thinking of getting a 35mm, but are they too close? Or would 24mm be better separation? I very rarely shoot hand held, as I’m into long exposures. The Tamron 35mm f1.4 has a good review, so does the Sigma 24mm. submitted by /u/Extreme5teve

Which lens to use?
