Have you noticed better JPEG quality from Lightroom vs other tools?

Have you noticed better JPEG quality from Lightroom vs other tools? LR left/DXO right, both at 80% JPEG quality RESOLVED: 80% isn’t 80%. Noticed LR output is 8MB or so, DXO is 4MBish. DXO has an 8MB output around 95% quality. Barely noticeable at this point. Thanks for the comments. Has anyone else noticed how the Lightroom jpeg export engine seems to do a better job than other programs? When exporting an edited…

Raw+Jpeg low or high quality?

Raw+Jpeg low or high quality? I want to start shooting in raw+jpeg, just to use the jpeg as a reference point for editing colors in the raw image. Will I lose anything by using a low quality jpeg? Jpeg quality doesn’t affect the colors of the image, right? submitted by /u/KegKlew

Is there a difference between converting RAW to JPEG without editing and shooting JPEG?

Is there a difference between converting RAW to JPEG without editing and shooting JPEG? I’m debating between shooting RAW or JPEG (or RAW+JPEG), because I don’t intend to edit all photos, but I’d like to have the possibility if any photo requires it. If I shoot only RAW and then batch convert them to JPEG in my computer without any edits, will I get the same result as if I shot in JPEG? Is there any added benefit on camera-generate…

I messed up. Bad. JPEG vs RAW

I messed up. Bad. JPEG vs RAW I’ve been waiting 10 years to make a trip to antelope canyon, Sedona, and Horseshoe Bend. Somehow, I, and the mistake is entirely my own, held the zoom in button on my D750 and rolled the roll bar thing and told the camera to shoot only in JPEG fine vs RAW. I then jumped into two extremely famous slot canyons that are immensely reliant on shad…

Is the file size too small for JPEG ? Background: Recently got a professional photoshoot done. The photographer initially delivered 200+ color corrected photos at ~4-5 mb each (resolution 4000 x 6000 ). We picked 20 to be edited further. And when we got them they are even smaller in size (~ 2-3 mb at 4000 x 6000 resolution. ) Question: 1) Is this normal for the photos to be so sma…
