Is it ok for kitchen island to be higher than the counters? We’re doing a kitchen renovation and want to make the island top thicker. They do this by mitering a piece to the edges to make it look like a thicker slab. It ends up making it about 1.25” taller (37.25”, the other counters will be 36”).
