Does using an adapted lens make the image quality worse?

Does using an adapted lens make the image quality worse? So, I am adapting a four-thirds lens to a micro four-thirds camera body and wondered if this results in worse picture quality. It allows AF on the lens. The reason why I am adapting a four-thirds lens is that the lens is super cheap. submitted by /u/DefectMahi

Tips on the composition of this image?

Tips on the composition of this image? I took this photo yesterday, it was like bulldozed sand and cinder blocks on a golf course. The golf course was boring and so I framed the photo in a way that removed it because I thought the sand and bricks worked best alone. Is there anything I could have done better here? I keep hearing that every photo should have an intention, and I’m worri…

Weird artifacts on image? What is this?

Weird artifacts on image? What is this? Hello, I have some weird artifacts on my shots which are taken with a Canon 70-200mm 2.8 mkii which I recently bought from MPB in “heavily used condition”. The artifacts are visible on shots only at night and where are artificial sources of light ( cars for example ). This is the only lens with this problem. Also I put some images with the rear…

LPT: See an ad on social media for something you like? Run a reverse image search before you buy. Many of the ads on Facebook and other apps sell items from Aliexpress and other cheap sites at an insane markup. Always search the image before buying to see if it’s a scam. The same is true for Etsy. Etsy used to be a true handmade marketplace. This is no longer true. There are still genuine crafters on there, but they are drowned out by scamme…

Blow up low rez image? Hi. Not so much a photography question, but I think I’m asking the right crowd I’m looking to blow up some images of album art cover of a few bands I like to have them printed as wall art. Nothing huge… Maybe 12“ x 12“. Can anyone recommend an easy solution to do this without ending up with some pixelated garbage? Thanks! submitted by /u/…

How much does equipment matter, and what might have been possible with this image?

How much does equipment matter, and what might have been possible with this image? I have owned DSLRs for years but have to make an effort to take it out (and feel like I’ve never made the most of the options anyway), and then there’s always that moment where you see a photo that works and you don’t have it with you. I took this photo with my phone but maybe it could have been more if I had the right equipment with me? I did j…

Can this image be salvaged?

Can this image be salvaged? Snapped this photo on the weekend of my son and his friend casually playing in the sand while a shark cruises past, but they are out of focus slightly and the image was underexposed. Shot RAW and I have done a very quick edit but not overly happy with the result – I’m not new to photography or editing but haven’t progressed much in either aspect…
