How do you handle harsh light from windows?

How do you handle harsh light from windows? I take LOTS of interior photos, but have one room in particular that is a real thorn in my side. The room has a vaulted ceiling with two windows at the top of the walls. No matter what time of day I take the photo, the light looks extremely harsh and washes out my photos. No amount of editing that I’ve tried in Lightroom gets rid of the harshnes…

Harsh lighting, is it bad? I think an ND filter could have help in these situations. Or I could have use much smaller aperture. Why do you guys think? Advice is greatly appreciated. Shot on Sony a6400 with 17-70 Tamron f2.8. submitted by /u/kheneee

Any tips how to shoot in direct light or harsh lighting without using a lens filter?

Any tips how to shoot in direct light or harsh lighting without using a lens filter? I’m using sony a6400 + tamron 17-70mm and thinking if I need to buy a filter in case I need to shoot in outdoor setting during lunch time or afternoon. Or are there any settings that I may not be aware of? Same case when shooting with skies, any settings that would make it blue and not overexposed? submitted by /u/Diligent-Scientist02

Is my permanent eyeliner too harsh? About 6 weeks ago got this eyeliner tatoo and now wondering now if it looks too harsh. This is with no make up. Usually wear a brown eyeliner but that did not happen. Honest advice please. I know it will fade but what will it fade to? Gray, blue/black?

Feedback (be harsh)

Feedback (be harsh) Alright, so, I’d like some feedback on these photos. First photo: I tried making it look emotional and like it has a story behind it (even though it doesn’t). I’m pretty happy with how it came out, but I feel as though it’s missing something, and I’m also unsure if I like how I edited it. Second photo: for this one I really like how it came out…

Looking for opinions on some travel street photos. Be as harsh as you like.

Looking for opinions on some travel street photos. Be as harsh as you like. Hi. Pulled out my ~15 y/o Canon Rebel XTi for my trip to Italy. Haven’t used it in at least 10+ years. Edited all in Lightroom Mobile on the go. I do like the filmy feel (some here might not) but most photos are using a Kodachrome preset. (4 is my favorite) submitted by /u/stevensticks
