Looking for a good macro flash for the OM Systems OM-1.

Looking for a good macro flash for the OM Systems OM-1. I’ve been shooting on the OM-1 doing mostly macro shots with the 60mm macro lens, and it’s been an absolute blast. Currently, I’m not using a flash at all and am looking to pick one up. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good macro flash for this camera? submitted by /u/RawCS

I need a good replacement for my holy grail: Mac Studio Fix Powder

I need a good replacement for my holy grail: Mac Studio Fix Powder This is the only foundation I have used for 7+ years, but I’m getting tired of driving 45 minutes to buy it. I’m heading to Ulta right now, what’s a good similar powder?? What I love about this powder: Amazing coverage, but not cakey looking like a lot of powders I’ve tried.. It just seems seamless to my skin. submitted by /u/CapCandid95…

What research do you perform to ensure you stay in a good neighborhood?

What research do you perform to ensure you stay in a good neighborhood? Ended up staying in the Tenderloin area of SF last year, unbeknownst to its incredibly down trodden situation. My GF and I had to traverse multiple blocks covered in human fences in all directions. So how do you avoid this? How do you look up an area? How do you filter hotel search engines to ensure you end up in safe, clean areas friendly to t…

I Cannot Overstate The Importance Of A Good Motorcycle Helmet

( jalopnik.com )

I Cannot Overstate The Importance Of A Good Motorcycle Helmet Two weeks ago, I embarked on my first offroad ride with my BMW F800GS: 100 miles of mixed dirt, gravel, pavement, and mud, stretching from Massachusetts’s southern border to the town of Greenfield. I came back from that trip a better rider — one with experience riding in mud, gravel, and with limited traction. I also… Read more…

Rays Wheels Are Expensive, But It Turns Out There’s A Good Reason Why

( jalopnik.com )

Rays Wheels Are Expensive, But It Turns Out There’s A Good Reason Why People spend a lot of time talking about forged wheels vs cast wheels. What does that mean, and why are forged wheels typically so much more expensive than cast ones? Is it because the traditionally unionized dwarf clans of the undermountain charge high hourly rates for their skills? Maybe, but actually, it’s because… Read more…

Considering M 4/3; seems like a good all around system

Considering M 4/3; seems like a good all around system Started with Nikon and currently using Fujifilm (T2, a bit dated). I am an artist (painter) and I get a lot of reference material from my photography, so I shoot everything, wildlife, still life, landscape, some portraits. I know I can get all of that with any camera system. I saw the Panasonic G9 on Amazon under 900 and clicked through, seems l…

In my Opinion the One Piece Live Action isn’t as Good as Most People are Saying it is

In my Opinion the One Piece Live Action isn’t as Good as Most People are Saying it is I just watched the first episode of the One Piece live action and I can say with confidence that it isn’t that good. It’s definitely good for an anime adaptation, but I think that’s just because the bar is set so low. I want to say that I have nothing against the actors or the producers as people. I just feel as if the acting was mediocre compar…

Would renting a room in our home be a good way to save/pay off some debt? How common is this?

Would renting a room in our home be a good way to save/pay off some debt? How common is this? My wife and I have been thinking about renting our master bedroom in order to be able to save some money and try to pay off some debt. It has been unoccupied since we purchased the home 3 years ago. We have a 3 year old and really can’t figure out if this would be a good idea or not. You know just bringing a stranger into our home. But we have …

Those with facial hair, good foundation? I’m a female with hirsutism. I shave my face daily. I have very oily tzone and very dry chin and strip of cheek where I shave constantly. The rest of the skin is normal. Every foundation I have tried whether liquid or powder accentuates the fact I’ve got dry skin and or facial hair. Is there anything out there that can help? What is a minor detail that kept you from finishing an otherwise good show?

What is a minor detail that kept you from finishing an otherwise good show? For me it was how often they say eachother’s names in Twin Peaks, I found it super distracting, I can’t explain why. Another was all the sex scenes in Banshee which were not only boring but also seemed to make up a quarter of each episode. I really enjoyed both of these shows but couldn’t lose myself in watching them because of these details and…

It’s the Year of the Big Game, and that’s a good thing

It’s the Year of the Big Game, and that’s a good thing Image: Bethesda Game Studios2023 has been packed with some of the biggest games in recent memory, and I’m totally fine with that. For the past little while, it feels like the gaming industry has been more interested in time-sucking live service behemoths, games that never end, rather than satisfying single-player titles. But this year, I’m inste…
