Transporting glass table top from another country to us Hello all, So I’ve found a vintage table that features a frosted glass top. It’s coming from overseas for a really good price compared to the prices in the states, the only issue is that the top of the table is a frosted glass top, I’m worried about it possibly breaking when transporting from such a long way. Are there any couriers I can contact…
LPT: Rinse your glass before pouring soda into it. It’ll fizz less. Edit: Come on guys, this isn’t difficult. It’ll fizz up less during the pour. It’s still a fizzy drink. submitted by /u/mack178
How do you clean your lens glass? (Fingerprints) I use a rocket blower to remove dust and stray hairs, but as it happens, I dropped a filter and someone picked it up and handed it to me with their fingers on the glass surface. Lens tissue? Microfiber cloth? Liquid cleaner of some kind? Something else? I hate touching the glass at all, so I usually don’t run into this issue. submitted by …

I don’t fully understand the hype behind Zeiss glass Would you please help me understand why people really like the Zeiss Batis lenses? So I understand that the lenses are of supremely high optical quality. But there’s like… what? Five batis lenses? They’re primes… but there’s one lens with an f1.8 aperture, two lenses are f/2, and the 135mm is f/2.8. I don’t really know what Zeiss was going for h…

Who I Become After Squeezing a Single Lemon into My Glass of Water The faucet fills my glass with water, but I don’t dare take a sip yet. As I squeeze the lemon into my drink, I mentally levitate. It’s true that I am now earthier and less judgmental. With just one sip of lemon water, I feel myself become effortlessly radiant. I skip my morning coffee because I’m high on vitamin C. My body is detoxing, and I fee…
Is glass.photo worth it? https://glass.photo/ No ads, no algorithms is a nice selling point. How is Glass doing and is it worth the $30/year subscription? submitted by /u/x6q5g3o7
Faster glass Vs stronger flash So I’m about to start the college semester and last year I took over shooting the college balls from my friend who dropped out. (In case it’s not a common thing, each course in my college holds a ball during the year where everyone gets dressed up and pissed drunk, basically a wedding where no one gets married) I shot a few and my set up was as…
Help Needed re: Placement of Glass Shower Wall Hi. 97% finished with my bathroom reno, and stuck at the last hurdle: deciding in which direction to place the glass shower wall for the walk in shower. The shower is in my basement (of a very old house), and it directly in front of the entry door. And I’m not sure if I should put it perpendicular to the left-hand wall (so that the glass be “fla…
LPT: if you know you’re going to hurl, pour the largest glass of ice-cold water you can find and slug it. Puking something cold is a much less awful experience . It also dilutes the acid and taste. submitted by /u/FisterAct
Glass, Mirrorless or Full Frame? Nikon D5600 owner, but time to upgrade some gear. Around £2500 budget and looking at nearly new. Almost exclusively shooting Motorsport as a hobby, and most venues I chose I can get close to the track, in some cases using 35 to 50mm focal length, rarely needing much above 200mm. I’ve been happy enough with 5fps, in fact, I usually take one or tw…
Why does it seem uncommon for floor to ceiling windows to be one uninterrupted pane of glass? obviously it would be expensive and difficult to install but i can imagine it would still be a selling point for a luxury penthouse to have near completely unobstructed views. submitted by /u/BoltComet
Hey guys, I have a quick question. I’ve been looking at windows and saw a huge wall of glass and wondered the cost and logistics. If it heats up the house in the winter then in the summer it wouldn’t it be too hot? submitted by /u/Curious_Pianist_7887
LPT: Eye glass arm hinge possibly may be used as tweezers in a pinch I was on location and got a sliver in my finger. I didn’t have any tools at my disposal so the search was on. I was able to pinch the sliver with the hinges from my eye glasses and get the sliver out. It pinched a bit since I didn’t have my glasses on at the time (doy). Perhaps someone can bake in some survival tools into a pair of glasses, mayb…
After Russian Attack in Ukraine, Broken Glass and Rattled Nerves in Romania A drone assault on a Danube River port sent shock waves — both the physical and the psychological kind — into villages just across the water that are in NATO territory.
You Can Make Boring Glass Look Like Sea Glass If you have some clear glass decor you’re tired of, or if you found a great piece at a thrift store, but the color isn’t quite what you want, you might think the only option is to replace it. But before you do that, you have another option: You can give them a beachy makeover with sea glass paint. This spray-paint… Read more…
Advice needed for Glossy Picture and Anti-Reflective Glass I’m getting a 100×70 cm painting with a glossy print to enhance the colors. I’ve chosen anti-reflective glass so i hope it will reduce glare, but I’ve read in this forum that glossy pictures can stick to the glass. Is that really an issue? Any recommendations on how to handle this? Can I buy a thin spacer or create a diy discreet solution as my …
