LPT: Store super glue in the fridge

LPT: Store super glue in the fridge Unlike many other adhesives, moisture actually accelerates the hardening of super glue. Storing super glue in the refrigerator creates a dry enough environment to significantly slow down the drying process. I’ve had opened bottles preserved this way for years that are still perfectly good to use! submitted by /u/tristshapez

LPT for gross fridge leftovers – freeze before binning

LPT for gross fridge leftovers – freeze before binning I just read on a lifestyle website (so not my idea) a great tip for getting rid of old leftovers from the fridge if they’re in a container you want to save but the contents are NASTY. Just freeze the container until completely solid, then take out and “pop out” the food into the bin (running hot water over the container helps if it’s stuck). Do …

LPT: Transfer your Leftovers from the styrofoam container before putting them in the fridge

LPT: Transfer your Leftovers from the styrofoam container before putting them in the fridge Styrofoam containers are meant to prevent contents from changing temperature, which is counterproductive when your goal is to cool them down for storage. If you keep them in styrofoam, your food may remain in the dreaded “Danger Zone” for hours. The “Danger Zone” is the temperature range of 40°F–140°F (4–60°C) where bacteria can grow to dangero…

LPT: If You Have a Fridge w/ An Ice Maker and Have a Power Outage, Empty It Into the Sink

LPT: If You Have a Fridge w/ An Ice Maker and Have a Power Outage, Empty It Into the Sink We lost power for two days due to the blizzard in the northeast US. Ice in the ice maker melted and shorted out the ice maker, water dispenser, lighting, etc. If we’d remembered to dump it into a sink we even could have used the melted ice for flushing toilets, washing hands, etc. If you’d like to keep the ice as long as possible, empty it in a …

How to dodge reflections in fridge door?

How to dodge reflections in fridge door? Today I had a shoot for industrial coolers, but kept running into trouble with reflections of the floor and walls showing up on the aluminum. I tried using a CPL filter to cut down on the glare, but it didn’t really help. I’ve attached a photo to show what we were going for. https://preview.redd.it/jpnt5zd9uhsc1.jpg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=w…

LPT take a photo of the inside of your fridge and all drawers before you go grocery shopping

LPT take a photo of the inside of your fridge and all drawers before you go grocery shopping Living in a house with two forgetful (edit: NEURODIVERGENT) people, we can make all the lists we want and still forget a lot of things/impulse purchase and end of with 7 things of cream cheese. Taking a photo of the inside of our fridge before we go to the grocery store has been SO HELPFUL in having a real time inventory. Bonus points if you tak…

Which way should the fridge open?

Which way should the fridge open? My partner says a left handed one. I thought a right handed one would make more sense since the kitchen is to the left, but I’m afraid of the door not opening enough because of the wall. submitted by /u/GuitarReasonable3744

LPT this is how you keep lettuce fresh longer in the fridge if it’s in a plastic container (if not, transfer it to one), put a paper towel on top and turn the container upside down in the fridge to absorb the water. Stays fresh for much longer and is never soggy. submitted by /u/flingadingalinga

If You Don’t Want Your Pickup To Look Like Your Fridge, Tesla’s Color Wrap Option Might Be The Solution

( jalopnik.com )

If You Don’t Want Your Pickup To Look Like Your Fridge, Tesla’s Color Wrap Option Might Be The Solution When the Cybertruck was first shown off 1421 days ago, the futuristic wedge was unlike anything else the automotive market had ever seen. To be fair, it still is. With a sharp-edged design crafted from stainless steel sheet, it wouldn’t look out of place in your local appliance showroom, fitting in between the… Read more…

That Baking Soda in Your Fridge Probably Isn’t Doing Much

( lifehacker.com )

That Baking Soda in Your Fridge Probably Isn’t Doing Much Deep in the back of many refrigerators sits a small orange box with one of the top corners torn off—or, in some cases, a bowl of white powder. That, of course, is (probably) baking soda, and it was placed there to absorb any food odors in the fridge. Read more…
