#dunes

Hey there I took these photos at the great sand dunes in Colorado. I took some photos of the sun setting behind the sand dunes and afterwards I noticed the rainbow effect inside the suns glare can anybody explain what this is and why it’s so prominent compared to when I’ve seen it in the past??

What do you do to protect your setup when shooting at dunes or the beach?

What do you do to protect your setup when shooting at dunes or the beach? I love the look of desert photography and I’m lucky enough to live in a place where I can go from dunes to the beach in one day, but how do I protect my camera and lens? Has anyone ever used pouch bags where you put your camera in a bag to protect it but can still take pictures with it? submitted by /u/Due_Ingenuity_1637

I have no experience with any kind of Astro photography, but I’d love to capture a somewhat decent photo of the Milky Way out there where there’s no light pollution, as I live in a place with horrible light pollution. I will be bringing a Nikon 18-55mm lens, is it even possible to take a picture of the Milky Way with a pretty basic DSLR camera …

Visited the dunes at Sandwich Harbor in Namibia!

Visited the dunes at Sandwich Harbor in Namibia! These are just a few of the photos I took. I flew from JoBurg to Walvis Bay, and then I did a full day tour of the dunes in a 4×4 where we drove over the dunes to Sandwich Harbor, where the dunes meet the ocean. Absolutely gorgeous, and a really easy trip to do if you’re already in South Africa! I spent one full day, 3 days total for the travel….
