Capture more detail with a cardboard box?

Capture more detail with a cardboard box? So I built this cardboard box on the camera obscura principle and did a few trial runs with it. It’s not perfect yet. It’s blurry, though that is an easy fix. But more importantly, there seems to be extreme contrast present. The first photograph was supposed to be a panoramic view of a city, backed by a mountain. But it only recorded the more pr…

If I were to photograph an old street and wanted to capture the features and draw people in should I be using a long lens?

If I were to photograph an old street and wanted to capture the features and draw people in should I be using a long lens? Is there anything I can do to help draw the eye down an old street, I love the street scenes of old roads with houses and I’d like to include them and people to follow it down. Would a long lens be best to add compression or would it be better for a wide angle? submitted by /u/Which_Performance_72

LPT: If you are in the woods and there is a well funded militia after you, taking a leak on a tree can lead to your capture.

LPT: If you are in the woods and there is a well funded militia after you, taking a leak on a tree can lead to your capture. It makes the tree stump visible by thermal sensors – either by ground forces or thermal drones. Always dig a small hole and do the business there and cover it back up. This drastically reduces visibility under thermals. submitted by /u/HazardousHacker

Does good street photography need to capture a moment?

Does good street photography need to capture a moment? I think it’s conventional wisdom that street photography is meant to document a candid moment in time, emotions, interactions, etc. But I wonder if there is another type of street photography that is primarily composition-based that does not require moment-seeking. Take the photographer Fan Ho for example. Much of his shots are just people walki…

Capture clip for Christmas for a dslr owner ?

Capture clip for Christmas for a dslr owner ? Hi all ! I wanted a couple of opinions on buying a capture clip for my boyfriend who has a Canon 5D (I think…). He’s a semi professional photographer, and I’d normally avoid photography gifts, but the capture clip doesn’t seem too “personal”. I did however want to hear 1. How unbalanced it feels generally and 2. people’s opinions on using it w…

Portrait Photographers, how do capture subtle forhead bump?

Portrait Photographers, how do capture subtle forhead bump? I can’t believe I’m asking this. I know this is weird, but I didn’t know who else to turn to. It is possible that I have a tumor in my forhead sinus region (Giant frontal sinus osteoma) and my doctor wants a picture. I have always had a predominate forhead aka frontal eminences. I also have very fair skin. I can feel and see the growing bump …

Capture Clip on thinner backpack straps?

Capture Clip on thinner backpack straps? Anyone using a PD Capture Clip on a backpack with thin straps? I use a Capture Clip on my Osprey Stratos 24 and it’s great; but I just picked up a second Capture Clip and a Deuter Speed Lite 13 and the shoulder straps on the smaller bag are more “floppy”, so the camera “dangles” and the lens bonks into the strap when it’s mounted. It’s secure an…
