Total noob trying to get into photography. Whats the cheapest and best B&W camera I can get? I’ve always LOVED B&W photos, especially how it plays on light and contrasts. Would love to get a (first) camera just for this. Any tips or suggestions? submitted by /u/Ok_Vacation_5251
First camera rec, b&w, low light? Hi everyone, I’m keen to buy my first camera this year, and looking for something that can be used outdoors, and preferably for shooting land/cityscapes, occasionally at dusk and night. I intend to shoot primarily in black and white, but a monochromatic Leica is out of the question of course. Would something like a Fujifilm X-T5 be suitable? The…
B&W or Color? “Me and my partner in crime” Making a post to my instagram account which I rarely use, and I’m curious what looks better? Also debating if maybe I should add both shots in one post to scroll through? Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/No_Conflict_1155
What went wrong? I have a ruined film and I’m trying to figure out what went wrong. All photos are similar to those attached. Film is a rollei retro 400s, shot +2 (1600). Could the lab have forgotten to push? Maybe the film was exposed to light when loading? I was using a polarizing filter, could it affect B&W this way? Maybe rollei just doesn’t push well? If yo…
Is this good bw photo? Is this good black and white photo because tbh I dont like it. To me it looks like 50 shades of gray. Do you have some tips and tricks for doing BW photgraphy? submitted by /u/Responsible-Call-119
B+W Red lens for underwater photography? Hi, I’m going to Zanzibar in January and thinking about taking my Sony FX30 underwater. Therefore I’m looking for a red filter with a 49mm diameter and the only one I can really find (available in Sweden) is this: https://www.gofoto.se/kamera-foto/kameratillbehor/filter/b-w-49mm-ljusrod-mrc-basic This filter is specified for black and white pho…
Focusing on B&W, how’s it going? I really love when there is strong contrast between the dark blacks and light whites, so any comments or suggestions on how to improve this, and on my composition, I would appreciate so much! submitted by /u/One-Opening8183
Which is better edit? BW or Colored? BW Colored Hello Reddit! Title. I’m leaning towards black and white, but the colored looks good to. (atleast for my own taste) submitted by /u/damnit_paul

Overexposed my BW film. How to compensate when developing, and how bad is it? Lesson learned today to always check the ISO setting when swapping film. I shot a roll of 400 ISO Ilford HP5 on aperture priority with the camera set to 50 ISO. Is it worth trying to develop it? I have Rodinal. It’s my first try developing BW film in 7 years after successfully doing color the other week. Would you recommend any specific timings…
Critique welcome. Best couple shots from a BW photography class. Kentmore pan 400. (1-2) Lomography Berlin 400 (the rest) These first two are photos from prints while the rest with less contrast are scans edited on PS. submitted by /u/Hungry_420
