Is it better to buy budget 4/3 lenses or a bridge camera for bird photography?

Is it better to buy budget 4/3 lenses or a bridge camera for bird photography? I currently own a Panasonic G8, and thinking of buying something like Panasonic 100-300 f/4.0-5.6 for bird photo. Would it be better to buy a bridge camera with superzoom instead? As I see, they could have a bigger equivalent focal range, although on a smaller sensor. submitted by /u/procion1302

Bird Photographers: how do you handle metering?

Bird Photographers: how do you handle metering? I’ve recently taken up some bird photography. I have a Nikon D5300 and I shoot with a 70-300 (I know; not ideal for birds, but it’s what I’ve got available at the moment). I typically shoot in shutter priority, but I find 1/300 isn’t ideal so i typically have it at about 1/1000 w/ an iso of 800-1200 depending on the light. Problem is I can’t tel…
