What gear is needed for astrophotography?

What gear is needed for astrophotography? My goal is to eventually try astrophotography as I love space. I’m curious about what kind of gear I would need to get decent photos. I currently have a Canon EOS 1100D would I need a whole different camera as well? I don’t have a budget yet as it’s more of a goal for in a few years time however I still want the gear to be at a reasonable price …

Can someone please explain why I’m getting these lines when trying to shoot astrophotography photos? Firat photo: ISO 100, 135mm, f5.6, 13 sec. Second photo: ISO 100, 135mm, f5.6, 30 sec. Question on Astrophotography

Question on Astrophotography I was watching videos on how to take pictures of the stars and the milky way, and I noticed that most of the videos said that we should use a wide aperture. I was wondering why that’s the case. I mean, wouldn’t it be safer to use a narrow aperture to get more of the scene in focus? Shouldn’t it be treated similar to shooting a landscape? Thanks…
