What are these artifacts that show up in completely black (iPhone camera) images?

What are these artifacts that show up in completely black (iPhone camera) images? What are all these little squiggly things I see when zooming in? The second image shows it a lot better. (Not talking about the 2 white dots in the first image) This was taken in complete darkness (at least to my eyes) with an iPhone 11 using the “night mode”. It looks the same whether I cover the camera or not, as long as it’s dark. Does it h…

Weird artifacts on image? What is this?

Weird artifacts on image? What is this? Hello, I have some weird artifacts on my shots which are taken with a Canon 70-200mm 2.8 mkii which I recently bought from MPB in “heavily used condition”. The artifacts are visible on shots only at night and where are artificial sources of light ( cars for example ). This is the only lens with this problem. Also I put some images with the rear…

Eclipse photo: are these craters or image artifacts?

Eclipse photo: are these craters or image artifacts? My brother took these photos of the eclipse today and I spotted what I first assumed to be craters on the moon, but I’m not absolutely sure. Would anyone with experience in photography be able to tell if they aren’t just image artifacts? Thank you! Taken using a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. submitted by /u/Generic_Pearson

Print artifacts

Print artifacts So i’ve been trying to print a photo i’ve made… I know it’s not the best photo but it keeps coming out with issues i can’t see on my monitor. Namely artifacts that seem to result from light blooming from the subject. It seems like the printer at my local photography store (should be a fairly modern one) has trouble printing the gradient. Or r…

What are these circular artifacts on the photo?

What are these circular artifacts on the photo? Hi all – I’ve had this happen before, mainly when bumping exposure/ shadows up in LR in post from a super dimly lit scene. No filter on the lens. This particular photo was shot at f/4, 24mm, 1/60, ISO 20,000. I have other ones shot at different ISO (8000), shutter speed, etc. with the same artifact. https://preview.redd.it/lplm0kh89zkb1.png?widt…
