LPT if trying to determine the safety of the area of your new rental/home, try leaving a crappy bike that is useable out in your front yard or near your entrance and see how long it stays their. Bonus LPT: if working on an investment property in a less than friendly area, you can dissuade thieves by dumping a bunch of random semi-trash objects out front.
