What Rock / Punk albums have the best choruses of all time?

What Rock / Punk albums have the best choruses of all time? Hi everyone, I’m starting this thread because ever since I was little (I’m almost 30 now), I’ve been a big fan of rock and punk music. My dad introduced me to this genre, and it’s been a passion of mine ever since. I began by listening to bands like Nirvana, Green Day, and Oasis during my teenage years. Later on, I expanded my horizons to includ…

What are your morning walk albums?

What are your morning walk albums? Hey everyone! I’ve recently decided to sort out my morning routine. Most of my life, I have always been very lazy in the morning and it has always taken me ages to “wake up” and get out of bed. To combat this, I have decided that the first thing I should do is brush my teeth, get dressed, and go for a walk. (I find that light exercise clears aw…

Is anyone else realy bad with song’s name/albums ?

Is anyone else realy bad with song’s name/albums ? I keep seeing on Instagram all the time people test their friends on the names of songs, they play a song for example by Metallica and they have to say the name after a secend of hearing the song. It always annoys me when people write “poser” or “it’s so easy” in the comments if the person doesn’t remember the name because if they gave me the t…

What are must listen albums?

What are must listen albums? After a quick run through my entire music library since the age of 10, I have come to the conclusion that I have listened to a shockingly low amount of albums. I have listened to 93 albums in my entire life. I would like to consider myself well versed in all kinds of music but how can I do so if I have listened to so little of it? I am looking f…

Albums that might be overlooked by people that like them because the band/artist’s more popular stuff is entirely different?

Albums that might be overlooked by people that like them because the band/artist’s more popular stuff is entirely different? I hope the title of this is straightforward and clear enough about what I mean by this, but I thought I’d mention an example anyways just incase. There’s probably a few better examples than this, but I think it still gives a pretty good idea of what I’m talking about. Pretty. Odd. by Panic! At The Disco Which is stylistically more comparable to …

I’m struggling with deciding on whether I should listen to the deluxe or standard versions of albums by old bands, explanation below

I’m struggling with deciding on whether I should listen to the deluxe or standard versions of albums by old bands, explanation below So I listen to many classic bands from the 60s, like The Who, The Byrds and many psychedelic rock artists. Now almost all these have their classic standard version of a famous album, let’s say The Who’s “The Who Sell Out” but also often a deluxe version with many bonus tracks that weren’t on the original release or were released years later. The…

What are some albums with a good and distinct narrative I am looking to expand my music library and I really enjoy albums that have a clear story that is continued from song to song and that I try to piece together myself. I mainly listen to alt-rock and hip hop but I’m very open minded towards all genres In case this helps, my favourites of all time are: My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy – Kanye wes…

Albums with hidden tracks at the end?

Albums with hidden tracks at the end? With streaming, the art of putting a hidden track at the end of an album that isn’t listed is basically dead. I still remember listening to Nevermind, thinking it was over, and Endless, Nameless comes on and it was a nice surprise. Are there any albums that have this that you recommend? submitted by /u/fuzzy_dice_99

What are some albums that end with humorous “codas”? What are some albums that follow up what should be a show-stopping final song with a more lighthearted “coda”? I can think of two examples: The Beatles’ Abbey Road, which could easily end on a great note with The End, but can’t resist adding the lovely doggerel of Her Majesty; and The Smiths’ The Queen is Dead, with Some Girls Are Bigger Than Ot…

What band’s magnum opus album did you find underwhelming compared with other albums in their catalogue?

What band’s magnum opus album did you find underwhelming compared with other albums in their catalogue? I’ll start it off with what might be a mildly hot take: R.E.M.’s Automatic for the People has always felt underwhelming to me compared with many of their ‘80s albums. I like the album and understand the heightened “maturity” and introspection, but I don’t consider it to be their best. submitted by /u/Sorries_In_A_Sack
