I remember going to record stores at midnight to buy a new album release It was fun meeting and hanging out with other fans in line, worrying the store might run out of copies by the time your turn came up! Found this video of fans waiting in line at midnight to buy Guns N’ Roses’ new album in 1991. https://youtu.be/we5vekzsyiU?si=\_OTNC8LFT9o\_lV5F submitted by /u/tascena

What’s your favorite shortest album?

What’s your favorite shortest album? Here’s mine : barque pop (think Florence Welch), with psychedelic, folk, and oldies influences. 31 minutes and 15 seconds. They say great things come in small packages (men reading, do not breathe a sigh of relief, we don’t mean you), so I’m curious if anyone has a favorite short album. Personally I don’t think the length of the album matters i…

You have one album to show one random stranger. If they genuinely like it, you get 100M dollars. Which album?

You have one album to show one random stranger. If they genuinely like it, you get 100M dollars. Which album? Basically the title. Just a random person from the street, you have your album in your hand. They’ve never heard it. If they genuinely find it an awesome album, you get 100 million dollars. I’m personally going Flume – Flume (although technically a mixtape) Too groovy, unique, and just a fun vibe. Curious to hear your album you’re confident an…

What was the weirdest music/album/artist/song banned from your school/class?

What was the weirdest music/album/artist/song banned from your school/class? My 13 year old nephew said that when he was looking at Bee Gees’ song Stayin Alive, the English teacher thought it was drake’s staying alive which blatantly interpolates the song, I hate modern interpolations, anyway, my point is, drake was banned in his school, and so was, you guessed it, Bee Gees, weird thing to get banned from schools in 2022…

Favorite completely unknown or “lost” album?

Favorite completely unknown or “lost” album? For this I mean an album that is so unknown or underground that you have never seen anyone, anywhere, on the internet, talk about it. It feels like you’re the only person on the Earth who knows it exists, and that makes it feel special to you. Bonus points if it’s not available on any streaming service, and you have to buy a physical CD or LP to…

IMO: Everyone has slept on Eamon. The “Fuck You (I don’t want you back)” singer put out an excellent album called “Golden Rail Motel”.

IMO: Everyone has slept on Eamon. The “Fuck You (I don’t want you back)” singer put out an excellent album called “Golden Rail Motel”. Maybe not a masterpiece, but I think it is a solid piece of work through and through. Excellent vocals and a fun neo soul vibe. I think he has more to offer and thought that this was an incredible jump from what he had previously done. submitted by /u/Juniorsfarmerfrancis

What don’t I get about Beyonce’s new album?

What don’t I get about Beyonce’s new album? I’ve given Beyonce’s new album a few tries now. I’m a Beyonce fan so this isn’t an intentional take down, but I just don’t get it. To me the album sucks, it’s boring, I honestly find it a grind to listen to the whole thing. In contrast all the feedback I’m seeing is about how groundbreaking it is and how it should already be favourite for album …

Music that had a huge impact on your taste (song/artist/album/genre)

Music that had a huge impact on your taste (song/artist/album/genre) I don’t just mean music you love but music that was a gateway to so much more because you just didn’t wanna stop exploring further after hearing it. For me, it’s gotta be the entire genre of “trip hop”. I stumbled upon the “big 3” (if that’s even a thing) that is Massive Attack, Portishead and Tricky first. Not only did I discover so many more b…

Artists you consider to be One ALBUM Wonders

Artists you consider to be One ALBUM Wonders Any artist that you think put out a single album that you love or had huge success but then nothing even comes close. I got to thinking about this because of Remo Drive. I LOVE Their first record Greatest Hits, super fun and inventive punk/emo vibes, great aesthetic, it really seemed like they were going to be the next big thing in that lane. Cu…
