What’s the worst airport scam you’ve experienced while traveling? Most accommodating airport I have the pleasure to visit.

Most accommodating airport I have the pleasure to visit. Had a connecting flight at Helsinki International airport. In the international terminal they have seatings that are not blocked off by arm rests so you can actually spread out if you wanted to. And they even invited travelers to recline and relax. Way to win brownie points, Helsinki! submitted by /u/neonam11

Frankfurt Airport (FRA) was one of the worst travel experiences of my life

Frankfurt Airport (FRA) was one of the worst travel experiences of my life We had an international connecting flight, landing with Lufthansa at Frankfurt Airport in Germany, and we had about 2 hours until the departure of our flight on United heading home to the USA. (note: flights board about 20 minutes prior to departure so we actually had only about 1.5hr until boarding of our next flight) After having a similar co…

Guatemala City Airport yellow fever certificate checks.

Guatemala City Airport yellow fever certificate checks. I will be visiting the west part of Panama before taking a bus to San Jose and flying to Guatemala City. I have the vaccine, but left the certificate at home (although do have a printout from my doctor showing the date and batch). Does Guatemala do checks. Most Central American countries exempt Panama (Costa Rica as an example), but can’t see an…

Does a departure ticket from the airport of a neighboring country suffice as a return ticket, if I plan to cross the border by foot or taxi?

Does a departure ticket from the airport of a neighboring country suffice as a return ticket, if I plan to cross the border by foot or taxi? We’ve all heard stories of someone being denied entry to a country because he/she bought a one-way ticket, and the general consensus is that you should always have a flex return ticket on hand while passing immigration, and change the dates of that ticket to the day of your departure when you have decided on it. Now my question is, was anyone ab…

Why do we always have to check-in at the airport and not online

Why do we always have to check-in at the airport and not online For some years now, on any airline, my wife (Dutch) and I (USA) can not check-in online when visiting the USA from Europe. I have asked once when going to the USA, and they did not really have an answer, only that because my wife travels on ESTA they need to see her physically. But we have the same problem returning to Europe. We have different …

Are you an airport coffee person or an airport alcohol person, and why?

Are you an airport coffee person or an airport alcohol person, and why? I’ve always been a “beer at the airport” kind of person because it feels like my trip has already started. I love coffee, but the idea of getting the tummy grumbles or forcing myself awake for long flights seems counterintuitive. submitted by /u/Higgz221

How many hours before your flight do you arrive at the airport for international flights and at which airport? I noticed that the 3 hours recommendation for arriving at an airport for an international flight can be an overkill on some airports and just right for others. Layover options: same flying times but is it better to be in air or at the airport?

Layover options: same flying times but is it better to be in air or at the airport? I’m looking at return flights from Tokyo to Little Rock, AR (both United) and my options are: 1. 16 hrs 42 min that goes NRT- LAX – IAH – LIT 2. 17 hours 12 min NRT – IAH – LIT Option 1 is 30 minutes shorter and only about $60 cheaper so price isn’t a factor. ( jalopnik.com )

NYT’s David Brooks Somehow Spent $78 On A $17 Airport Hamburger There are a lot of things that suck about flying, but one of the most frustrating ones is just how expensive food and drinks can be.
