LPT: If you want walking directions on Google Maps that actually avoid un-walkable highways, press “Cycling” instead of “Walking” for direction type. For me, whenever I tried finding walking directions to a given place, Google Maps kept sending me to walk along a highway that I knew wasn’t safe to walk by.
