What’s a band or act more popular online than in the real world? My nomination is Mike Patton / Faith No More. Shows up on every Reddit music post on every topic. I otherwise hadn’t really thought of that band since about 1992 and could have never named the lead singer. What’s a concert you went to where the opening act was better than the headliner? In the early 90’s I saw Faith No More open for Billy Idol in Chapel Hill NC, and they showed up to kill. Mike Patton was in fantastic voice, and the band tore it up. War Pigs and Surprise, You’re Dead really got the crowd going. In contrast, Billy Idol was in a cast from a motorcycle accident, and appeared to be on some pretty serious pain meds….
