Should I switch to an external flash? Can I achieve desired effect with just the pop-up?

Should I switch to an external flash? Can I achieve desired effect with just the pop-up? So yesterday I decided to do a photoshoot with my friend at night and this is how some of the pictures turned out. I used a Canon EOS 250D with the EF 50mm 1.8 II lens and pop-up flash to take these pictures. My question is, in order to take pictures like you see in the one made by David Bergman, do I need an external flash or do I just have to …

How do I achieve this with my Canon EOS R50?

How do I achieve this with my Canon EOS R50? So I was watching this video, but I’m unable to get results like this using my R50. There is a greenish tinge in the photos taken here that I really like. How did Mike Chudley get that effect in his photos? He says that his camera settings are ISO 100, F-shot 18, and Shutter Speed 1125. I tried the same settings but don’t get the same result. I…

How do people achieve those bad quality/gritty/blurry/old looking pictures?

How do people achieve those bad quality/gritty/blurry/old looking pictures? Don’t quite know how to explain this, but a lot of people post pics like that on instagram. Even just shitposts of random stuff, that appears, grainy, gritty, blurry, bad in quality but in a good way. Is it all just editing, or do I have to take the pictures with the end result in mind? Pretty sure they do it with their phone too. And of course…

I (28m) live with my fiancé while she’s getting her masters degree at out of state university. I work from home 84k/year. Student housing were in is super affordable ($580 for my half utilities included), we share a vehicle (no payment), and I hardly have any other bills. Anyone know how to achieve this light bleed and flare digitally?

Anyone know how to achieve this light bleed and flare digitally? I think I know how to achieve this color grade and grittiness, I just am not sure the best way to go about the lights. I’d think to lower the clarity and play with dehaze on a selection of where the lights are, but I’m wondering if there’s a lens filter to do that and help with the flares. submitted by /u/the_cheap_DM
