complete film photography beginner with questions about ISO range, DX coding, etc for my 35mm point and shoot film camera I recently purchased a used Chinon Auto GL-ii 35mm film camera (just a pretty basic cheap point and shoot film camera) and want to take it with me to shoot some film during my trip to Europe this coming winter. i mainly plan on using it for street photography (primarily buildings/ architecture) and landscape photography (e.g in the swiss alps du…

DSLR over 35mm?

DSLR over 35mm? So, obviously new to photography. Got into film cause I figured used 35mm cameras would be cheaper than buying digital and I like the medium. While I love the format and how the pictures are coming out, I’m realizing that film + scan/upload gets pricey quick. So far I have: Minolta Maxxim 500si (18-55mm lens, 70-300mm lens) Minolta X-370 (49mm…

How were extremely large (I mean large poster to billboard sized) prints made before digital? If you had a photo you wanted on the side of a building, how would you take 35mm film and blow it up that big?

How were extremely large (I mean large poster to billboard sized) prints made before digital? If you had a photo you wanted on the side of a building, how would you take 35mm film and blow it up that big? I understand how photographic paper and an enlarger works, but you can really make a sheet of photographic paper that big and use a really big projector of some kind to make an impression. submitted by /u/Flipdip35

Is there a 35mm camera with a one-handed grip, like a camcorder?

Is there a 35mm camera with a one-handed grip, like a camcorder? I have a friend who likes analog photography, but has a disability affecting the use of his left arm. He wants to take photos on the go without having to use a tripod. Is there a camera that would work in this situation? submitted by /u/tjwalkr0

Do I need a 50mm if I am willing to use crop mode on a 35mm?

Do I need a 50mm if I am willing to use crop mode on a 35mm? I am about to get the Sony 35mm F1.4 GM, a prime lens. I was thinking of also getting the Sony 50mm F2.5 G, which is a really tiny prime. These lenses will be paired with the Sony A7RV, a 61mp sensor. I realised that I do not need the 50mm F2.5 if I am willing to use APS-C / crop mode. I was reading up on equivalence, and the 35mm F1.4 transla…

35mm lens

35mm lens Hopefully I’m okay to ask this but I didn’t really know where else to ask. This is probably a daft question but I’ve been out of photography for so long, am only just getting back into it and I’m a bit stumped. If a venue has a rule that a camera cannot have more than a 35mm lens what exactly does that mean? As I have a Sony rx100 vii and I’ve…

sigma 35mm f1.4 worth it or alternatives?

sigma 35mm f1.4 worth it or alternatives? Do you guys think buying the sigma 35mm f1.4 for amateur portrait photography is worth it, or are there decent alternatives? I am already planning on buying a used lens, but they are still around £350+. I am very much into botanical and portrait photography, so I need a decent macro lens. Thanks! submitted by /u/majorcatlover

Question about my Meike 35mm 1.7 lens. Is this distance indicator dial between the aperture and focus ring supposed to rotate? If not, does someone here have a fix for it? The lens works perfectly fine, its just bothering coz i can’t remember if it should rotate or not. It just feels kinda weird. TY

35mm or 85mm prime

35mm or 85mm prime I recently picked up an a6400. I’ve got the FE 50mm f/1.8 and Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8. I’m considering another prime lens but can’t decide on the 35mm f/1.8 or 85mm f/1.8. Mostly interested in using it for street photography. submitted by /u/hustlersince78

Best compact 35mm camera for night life

Best compact 35mm camera for night life Hey everyone. I’m fairly new to shooting film, I’d like to get a small compact 35mm camera that is good for photographs in Bars and Clubs. Nothing very big because I don’t want to draw much attention or stick a camera in anyone’s face in that type of environment. What would you recommend? submitted by /u/Crafty-Appeal3861

Can the 7artisans 35mm lens be directly attached to the body of a Canon EOS M50 Mark II without a mount adapter?
