I switched to Canon but I miss the Nikon DX 35mm f/1.8G. Are there any affordable equivalents for Canon? I am on extremely tight budget. I have the 80D along with the 24mm f/2.8 STM and 50mm f/1.8 STM. I am not really happy with either of them. Photos taken with my ancient Nikon body + that 35mm lens look so much better than anything I’ve taken with the Canon. Unfortunately my budget is basically limited to what the Nikon lens can be had for, $100-…

Any cheap 35mm Primes for EF Mount?

Any cheap 35mm Primes for EF Mount? I am the owner of an older Canon APS-C DSLR and currently have the 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 Kit Lens as well as a Nifty Fifty and an older 100-300mm F4.5-5.6 USM. Since the 50mm on APS-C provides quite a narrow field of view, I’m searching for a ~35mm alternative that is at least just as fast and can be bought (new or used) for a similar price of the ni…

35mm vs 50mm? Pick one or buy both? Hello all, I am thinking about selling my Fuji setup and switching to Sony. Right now, I own a 35mm prime, a 50mm prime and a 85mm prime (in terms of fullframe focal lengths). But I am thinking about reducing my Sony kit for budget reasons to the 35mm & 85mm or the 50mm & 85mm. 35mm and 50mm are kind of similar. But the 35mm captures much more…

Poor quality in 90s consumer grade 35mm film?

Poor quality in 90s consumer grade 35mm film? I was looking through family photos from the 60s and onwards. Something that really struck me is that the consumer grade film my parents at least bought in the 90s had much inferior colours and seemed to have aged worse than photos taken during the previous decades. Is this just a case for the film my parents bought or was consumer film worse in…
