Shooting at 24mm on a 24-70?

Shooting at 24mm on a 24-70? Hi everyone. So, I’ve never shot with a wide angle lens (other than casual iPhone shots) before. I have mostly been a 50mm guy. So, I decided that my second lens would be a 24-70, as I didn’t want to commit to a single focal length. Anyhow, while I’m still in the return window, I’ve been testing out the lens at 24mm. I’ve tried taking images o…

Is a 24mm f/1.8 prime better than 24-70mm f/4 zoom for landscape?

Is a 24mm f/1.8 prime better than 24-70mm f/4 zoom for landscape? Very new amateur – I find myself mostly using 24mm for landscape shots. At f6 or f8 for both of these lenses, would the prime be much sharper for landscape photos? Daytime and outdoor shooting only. I am using a Z6II and would consider either a used S series lens or a cheaper third party z mount like the viltrox. I wouldn’t mind switching lens…

24mm GM vs Sigma 24-70 II as a second lens?

24mm GM vs Sigma 24-70 II as a second lens? Hi everyone, I’ve been using sony a7IV with 50mm 1.4 GM for about 5 months as my only lens doing portrait and bodoir photography, trying to get into paid work while also keeping it as a hobby. Now I am debating on which 2nd lens I should get. 24mm seems like the best 2nd prime, shooting indoors sometimes gets a little too tight for 50mm and it…

Looking for input on what I can improve. Was just going for an interesting photo. Two panes of glass are present which offered interesting reflections. Took with a Canon 850D, 24mm lens. What can I improve on in terms of composition and editing?

Chromatic Aberration on Lumix 24mm 1.8?

Chromatic Aberration on Lumix 24mm 1.8? I’m pretty new to photography, so I’m not totally familiar with the way these things work, but I noticed what appeared to be some weird fringing on a new Lumix 24mm 1.8, so I tried to test it with this tree branch. Is this normal? 1st picture is 24mm, second is with a Lumix 50mm 1.8. Thanks! https://preview.redd.it/dyau3iaxht7d1.jpg?width=6000&f…

Is a 24mm prime lens a good choice for me?

Is a 24mm prime lens a good choice for me? Hello! I have done photography for about a year now and wish to get a new lens, partially for some travel photography and vlogging this summer, but also because I do some photography for a Nightclub in my area. I am currently working with a 50mm 1.8 on an aps-c body and want a wider angle objective, I am looking at either a 24mm or a 35mm and am…

Canon 24mm pancake, is it worth it? (Ladakh trip)

Canon 24mm pancake, is it worth it? (Ladakh trip) Hi! As the title says, this summer I’ll be visiting Ladakh and it’s basically a dream come true. I’m mainly interested in buddhist festivals/reportage, landscape and the Milky Way. I don’t care much about sharpness, I’m in love with the artistic and emotional aspect of photography. The point is, I’m a broke medical student and my gear is, well, …

What’s a good 35mm equivalent lens (23/24mm) for Sony APS-C?

What’s a good 35mm equivalent lens (23/24mm) for Sony APS-C? I recently bought a new Sony a6700 and I’m looking for 23/24mm lens in budget (under $400). What lenses would you suggest? P.S: I was looking at Viltrox 23mm f1.4, Tamron 24mm f2.8 or Sigma 30mm f1.4 (eventhough it’s a different focal length). Please feel free to suggest other lenses as well. Thanks. submitted by /u/Stock-Development605 …

50mm 1.8 or 24mm 2.8

50mm 1.8 or 24mm 2.8 As the title suggests im tossing up between these 2 canon lenses. I like the fact that 24mm is wider than the 50mm however the 50mm will be alot better for low light. Mainly looking at using it for car photography. Any suggestions would be great. Currently only using a kit lens 18/55 without IS. TIA submitted by /u/kp6273

24mm lens

24mm lens I’m after some advice on a 24mm prime lens. I have a 45mm prime, and was thinking of getting a 35mm, but are they too close? Or would 24mm be better separation? I very rarely shoot hand held, as I’m into long exposures. The Tamron 35mm f1.4 has a good review, so does the Sigma 24mm. submitted by /u/Extreme5teve

Is there a fixed lens camera that offers 24mm (or 16mm APS-C)?

Is there a fixed lens camera that offers 24mm (or 16mm APS-C)? I love my iPhone’s focal length and even though I’ve owned the X100V, I never liked the 35mm. I love the 24mm for pretty much any setting: dramatic portraits, landscape, cityscape, street, and overall general travel. I either like 50mm or 24mm but nothing in between. 28mm not my favorite but I would consider it over the 35mm. Is there any fixed …

My focus for this day was street photography. Using a 24mm I wanted to get close enough to my subject while also capturing one of the many DC monuments in the background. To make the pictures more interesting I normally try to wait for my subject to gesture.
