Best countries for dancing? I recently spent 6 months in Cali, Colombia and fell in love with the dance culture, from salsa to afrobeat. I want to travel, discover and dance more. Any suggestions of where to go? I am interested in Jamaica as I am a huge fan of dancehall music. Am a solo female traveller. Thanks!! submitted by /u/Pale_Exit_6321

Airport security in other countries? I work airport security in the US and we have the rules everybody is used to. Body scanners, no LGA’s over 3.4oz, electronics rules depending on the machine, etc. How is it like going through non-TSA at other airports? Passengers always freak out at the body scanner or claim they can take their large liquid because it’s sealed, so I’m assuming …
Road trip in Jordan My husband and I rented a car and drove all over Jordan for 18 days. I am not a fantastic photographer, but we went to some fantastic places. Happy to answer any questions about driving around and to some of the less frequently traveled corners (on top of the main sites we went up to Aljoun and out to Azraq). submitted by /u/TattooedTeach…
Best place to meet up in Heathrow Where is the best place to meet family coming in on a different flight in terminal 3? We both land within a hour of one another. Is the pret by harrods easy to find and accessible after passport control? submitted by /u/pewpewpewp84
How many days each in these South & Central American cities I’m planning a multi country trip to take soon – as close as November or December. So far I am thinking of Mexico City > Costa Rica > Peru > Colombia > Panama – and then flying back home. I know the weather might not be great but that is not on my mind at the moment, although I would appreciate any of your thoughts. To those who live in these p…
I have checked in on a British Airways flight for tomorrow morning. I have a large piece of luggage but my boarding pass states I only have 2 pieces of hand luggage to my name. I have had a nightmare trip today. I am attending a friend’s wedding in Croatia and I have booked a flight from London Stansted to Zagreb. Two train delays (storm in Edinburgh and a signal issue around Peterborough, total amount of delay over 3 hours) have caused me to miss my flight by 7 minutes. (I arrived at the airport 33 minutes before the …
Cruise to Antartica – should we go? There is a 10-day cruise to Antartica, early 2025, all inclusive including business class flights but it costs 50k. It’s once in a lifetime experience and I have always wanted to partake in shore landing. We have splurged in other cruises before but this would be our most expensive yet. Is it worth it? submitted by /u/kluyvera
Just thought about stray animals on my trip. I’ve been planning for my first solo trip to Portugal and Spain, and I realized that I didn’t even consider the possibility of stray animals, mainly dogs, until I was checking out Airbnbs and noticed many hosts having dogs. I have cynophobia (fear of dogs and canine). It has not been easy to live life with this phobia, to say the least. It surpr…
Japan vs S. Korea vs Thailand vs Vietnam? Which would be better for novice travelers? Hello all, I hope I am not being too redundant in my question as I do not frequent this sub often. I am ready to plan a trip with my husband who has never traveled out of the US. I have frequently traveled out of the country but it was when I was much younger and one time with a 1 month study abroad program. Basically I have not had to plan most…
Teotihuacan, hot air balloon or walking tour? I am planning to visit Mexico City in Nov with a group of 6. We are currently debating if it’s worthwhile to do the hot air balloon tour of Teotihuacan, followed by an unguided (but maybe we can arrange for a tour guide as well) walking tour or just opt for a walking tour only. Will probably book one or the other via airbnb experience unless the…
Would you recommend Taiwan for a culture and architecture – confused trip? Hi everyone, I’m thinking about visiting Taiwan in January, but I’m not sure it has what I’m looking for. As the title says, I’m primarily interested in culture and architecture (and food!) in the places I’m visiting. Nightlife and shopping don’t matter at all. What I’m concerned about is that Taiwanese cities seem to be just concrete jungles, …
Mom and 7 year old last minute trip ideas in US I’m taking the week of Nov 6 off work and thinking of surprising my 7 year old son with a short trip (maybe 4 days) within the continental US (no passport for him unfortunately and too late to get one). He is into architecture so I am thinking NYC might be cool for him, but open to other ideas. He also likes nature and I think he’d enjoy seeing…
Is it dumb to travel as a westener to Türkiye right now? My husband and I are currently on our honeymoon. We’ve been traveling all over Europe for the last 3 months and are currently in the Balkans. We are scheduled to travel to Turkey on Monday, staying overnight in the airport and then heading to Cappadocia for 4 days. Then we are supposed to fly back to Istanbul to spend a week and then fly out of …
16k euro and 5 months, what do i do solo? So I’m sick of work and want to go back to college, but I do want to do one big travel beforehand (I am solo) I want to test my boundaries as I’ve only ever travelled in Europe, so looking at doing somewhere a bit more out of the cozy and easy Europe comfort zone My original plan was the Arabian peninsular, but my travel date is late march – aug…

What is your “sh*t happens” travel story? I was working near the Grand Canyon for the season, and my car died on me. I spent about a month searching for a decent used car, found a handsome Taurus wagon, bought it, fixed a bit, and hit the road. Turned out to be a lemon, needed $2k of work, but it got me from the GC up and around Yellowstone and the Tetons and back. I named it Walter. Wa…
