Solo girl traveling in Thailand Hey fellow travelers, I recently traveled solo in Thailand and had an incredible time! Here are some highlights and tips: Bangkok: Temples: Wat Arun and Wat Pho are must-visits. Street Food: Loved the pad Thai, mango sticky rice, and coconut ice cream. Markets: Chatuchak Weekend Market is amazing for shopping. Chiang Mai: Temples: Wat Phr…
Brussels + Luxembourg (May 2024) This was my penultimate trip during my 4-month study abroad term in Prague. I was very surprised by Brussels, came in not expecting much but the architecture was fantastic. Same with Luxembourg, a lot of people skip Luxembourg, but I think it’s perfect for a day trip. The city has a very unique layout, and the hills make an epic view (picture 5)…
Suzhou, China. It’s a good city submitted by /u/Accomplished_Rate242

What well-known travel destination can still be considered a relative bargain? I went to Istanbul two years ago and the prices at restaurants and hotels were more than acceptable. Now, when I check menu prices online and hotel reservation sites, the everything seems to be doubled. Hagia Sophia was free when I visited, but now it’s 25 euros per person. I don’t remeber how expensive Topkapi palace was, but it was nowhere nea…
Question for pet owners who have traveled internationally to New York I’m currently in the UK with my dog and planning on returning to the USA in the near future. I thought this was going to be a relatively simple process, but with upcoming changes to CDC rules for entry, it’s getting a little more complicated. My main concern is that all pet-friendly airlines will begin to refuse to transport dogs to the USA unle…
Which is the one place you would go back to in a heartbeat? Let us assume that you could only travel to one place in the world and that place had to be one you visited before. Which one would you choose and why? Note that you would only be able to choose one city/village/province, where you can have maximum 1-day trips, if any, without overnight stays elsewhere. submitted by /u/Narrow-Leave-7965 …

Recommend American cities that feel like Santa Fe… Husband and I have just gotten to a point where we can travel a bit courtesy of having lots of airline miles. He recently told me we could take a trip somewhere in a neighboring state (we had the miles to fly for free) or somewhere a couple states away for a week. I picked Santa Fe, NM and we had an amazing time. The dry mountain air and crisp …

Trip Report: Just spent a few days in Portland, convinced that whoever complains about this city has never been to Southern California. Spent a couple days in Portland it is a GEM of a city in the US. At first I was hesitant because it seems to be the medias most hated city of the the 21st century, but after staying downtown and navigating around the city entirely on foot and public transit, I have to say it is one of my new favorite places in the US and I will surely be going b…
Do you think talking about your travels too much comes off as arrogant and like you’re bragging too much? Is it really a touchy subject? I don’t know why but I feel like traveling has become one of those subjects that can rub people the wrong way. I feel it starts coming off as one upping like I’m more well traveled or I’m more worldly than you. I travel a lot but I really don’t want others to know or care for them to know unless they ask. I know in my mind what I experienced so…

What are some countries you felt were not nearly as touristed as one would assume given how much they have to offer? In the course of a few weeks, I traveled to both France and Nicaragua. One is obviously extremely visited by tourists, and the other much less due to political issues and other concerns. Over the years, I have found several less-visited countries to be more enjoyable to visit than some really touristed ones. It got me thinking: What are some cou…
