Is ‘Cats in The Cradle’ a sad song or happy song? My boyfriend and I both love this song and we’re discussing it the other day when we realized we both have totally different takes on the song. I think of it as a sad, melancholy song about essentially getting what you give. The father never spent enough time with his son growing up, so in his old age his son pays that forward.
