What older artist would you like to see get more flowers (or at least exposure) today? I’ll start. XTC was never a huge band (at least not here in the States) but they had so many strengths, from the avant-garde to great pure pop. Fantastic writers and musicians, but you hardly hear of them today. Why are there no current political hits? You would think with such a tumultuous time USA there would be more politically driven hits. Am I missing some? Are they too controversial to alienate 50% of the population for record labels? There’s some good stuff I’ve seen on Tik Tok, but can’t think of any big hits submitted by /u/gimpsarepeopletoo

To me, John Williams captured the essence of passion and beauty when he composed “Across the Stars” (from Ep 2: Attack of the Clones), and listen I’m obviously a big SW fan, but even without context that is one of the most beautiful sounding songs I’ve ever heard.
