LPT you can cancel a service immediately after signing up for a free trial and you still get the trial. I was reading another post about how someone was charged before the end of the trial period and to avoid this I have learned To immediately cancel the subscription right after activation. The subscription remains for the rest of the trial period and there is no risk of been charged because you forgot to cancel or canceled late. Same with auto-re…
LPT unplug your electronics before you pack them. Ended up with a broken baby monitor because I left the charging cord plugged into the monitor when I packed it. That caused too much stress on the charging port which broke it. Used to just wrap the cord around it while plugged. submitted by /u/MrJorgeB
LPT Request – How to use a tissue box that has the plastic removed LPT Request How to use a tissue box that has the plastic removed Hi there My toddler keeps pulling off all the plastic from our Kleenex boxes. So there is just a large rectangular hole in the top (I have the long boxes, not the square ones). The tissues are very hard to get out each time one by one. Any suggestions on how to deal with this? …
LPT You can keep chips, crackers, and pretzels in the freezer, and they’ll pretty much never get stale. I’m currently eating the last of some bagged pretzels we’ve had in the freezer for a year. We opened the bag a year ago, and just keep it closed in the freezer, but pull out pretzels as we want them. They’re always fresh, and they don’t need to be thawed because they’re so thin. They become room temperature within a few seconds. submitted by…
LPT Make a playlist out of the motivational YouTube Shorts videos you’ve thumbed-up and hit shuffle on it every day as part of your morning routine I’m sure a lot of us find the occasional bits of wisdom in YouTube Shorts and we just end up hitting the thumbs up, scrolling onto the next video, never watching the video again and the wisdom eventually gets lost to us A way of reinforcing these pieces of wisdom I came up with is adding them to a huge playlist and shuffling through them every m…
LPT If you have a garage refrigerator or freezer, but a temperature sensor with a remote display. After twice throwing out tons of spoiled food due to my refrigerator stopping, I bought remote temperature sensor for both my freezer and refrigerator. I have the display sitting at eye level on my indoor refrigerator so I can check at a glance if there are any issues. Some units come with an audible alarm. submitted by /u/thetruesuperge…
LPT Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience Don’t stoop to their level, it’s tempting but you’re always better off either disengaging or changing the topic. Got reminded of this lesson the hard way recently submitted by /u/risforpirate
LPT Request – How do you get past the vulnerable or awkward feeling you get when trying to learn a new skill? I’m thinking of learning a new language. I used Google to find some resources and I think I got a good system figured out. But I just feel awkward when I try. I’m just saying words out loud. I know everyone has to start somewhere, but I wish I could get past this bashful anxiety I get when I try to practice. submitted by /u/I_dont-get_th…
LPT Get a haircut/makeover before you go on holiday Before you head on a big trip where you’re going to be travelling around and taking photos at sightseeing spots or with your friends etc. You will want to look back and be looking your best! submitted by /u/Osarion62
LPT When someone shares a milestone, set a calendar reminder to follow up in a few weeks. For example, if a friend starts a new job, ask them about it a month later. It shows you care and strengthens your relationship. submitted by /u/Purple_Delivery3364
LPT : If you have to answer your phone for unknown numbers (like when looking for a job), answer with “ speaking” instead of “Hello” LPT: A lot of robocalls only register a number as active if a person says “Hello”. Some even have an automated voice repeating “Hello” just to get you to echo it before going into their sales pitch. They fail to register if they believe they’re getting an answering machine. But obviously, most Humans can react to “Charles speaking” and the call …

LPT If you are within close distance to a movie theater, purchase your tickets there to avoid a $5 service fee In a world of annoying service fees, this is a good tip to avoid one when trying to purchase a movie ticket ahead of time. Every little bit counts! submitted by /u/smozi0
LPT If your partner drove to their night out and had a few more drinks than expected. If you are able, dont make them rideshare home. Ride share to them and drive their car home. Save all the trouble the next day having to both go and pick up their car. Plus if it’s your girlfriend who is out you make sure she gets home safely. Win win. submitted by /u/truelygrant
LPT Keep a spare dog leash in your car for the next couple weeks Dogs often bolt when they hear fireworks, which makes the end of June/start of July prime time for dogs to be running loose in the U.S. Please note that I am not encouraging people to approach lost dogs who are scared! However, if it’s safe for you to help a lost dog, you’ll be glad you have a leash handy. submitted by /u/whereisthequicks…
LPT – Trying to cut down time on your phone? Put the book you’ve been trying to read near the location you usually sit and browse social media. I often sit at my kitchen table and browse social media in the mornings/evenings after my kids go to bed. Leaving “Drunk Tank Pink” on the table instead of the nightstand where it usually sits (and I never read it) made a dramatic improvement. Now I pick it up the book all the time and my phone reports a 30-40% reduction in screen time each week…
