LPT – when thawing out meat in the microwave, use the lowest power setting for a longer amount of time. My microwave has a defrost setting but it always leaves the meat much worse off than if I use 10% power instead. For 1lb of frozen ground beef, I put it on 10% power for 20 minutes.
