Is it worth it upgrading my Sony nex c3 body with a better lens? I am using the kit lens, 18-55, but I want to upgrade to a 50mm, for portrait photography. I just dont know if its worth it investing on another Sony lens, e-mount. In the future I will upgrade my camera body, so idk if the lens will be useful. I do like the camera tho, easy to learn the basics! Right now i am just starting so I cant invest mone…
Hi! I’m taking photos of my friend for a project she has for college. I love taking medium ranged photos of my subjects but I would like them to be more clear and get the most out of my camera for tomorrow. I’ll detail more in comments. Any tips? Here’s a bunch of photos I’ve taken over the last few months. Any criticism or feedback will also be greatly appreciated. I have a Nikon D3200 with a Nikon DX 18-55mm lens. I have a flash mount as well. I take all the photos and edit them raw. I usually take all my photos on portrait mode or manual. Please give me all you got people! I have a lo…
Did the photo store mess up my films? Hi I’m quite new to analogue films but I have shot bw films that were low contrast and they turned out great. Recently I shot bw again and this time they turned out looking like this which is disappointing. I’m wondering if it’s something I need to work on or if the photo store ppl messed up my films. Thanks! submitted by /u/yoyo1087

Flash Extenders for Godox V1? Going to purchase a Godox V1 flash. I would like to be able to place a flash extender on it. I’ve looked at Better Beamer and MagBeam but I don’t see any adapters for the round flash head. Has anyone purchased some kind of extender for your Godox flash? If so, what brand or adapter have you used and how does it fit and perform? submitted by …
Capture Clip on thinner backpack straps? Anyone using a PD Capture Clip on a backpack with thin straps? I use a Capture Clip on my Osprey Stratos 24 and it’s great; but I just picked up a second Capture Clip and a Deuter Speed Lite 13 and the shoulder straps on the smaller bag are more “floppy”, so the camera “dangles” and the lens bonks into the strap when it’s mounted. It’s secure an…
Great Online Resources on the fundamentals of Composing a great shot? I’ve been trying to absorb as much information as I can via YouTube, learning as I go and looking for solutions as the issues arise. I feel like I’m having the most trouble right now with composition. I’ve come across a few snippets here and there but I’m looking for something more structured. Can anyone recommend a course or long form video th…

Samyang 135mm fast enough for action? I have a Sony a7iii and I’m looking to buy a used Samyang 135mm f1.8 I can get for around $550 in my local currency. I mainly shoot dog photography (portraits, running and eventually agility). I only have a Sony 85mm f1.8 right now which is not ideal for action. Do you have any experience with the Samyang lens for this purpose? I am only a hobby…
How would you edit this photo to make it more interesting? I took this photo last week and I have my own edit, but I’m curious how others would approach this. I’ve included the unedited jpeg. submitted by /u/DeanKollier
Working for free in interview process? Okay so first time posting here as I have no idea what to do! Bit of background, i got my first full time job as a photographer/ videographer this summer and during the interview process I got asked to create 2 Instagram Reels. It was my first job in the industry (outside of freelance) so I happily obliged. It’s ended up being quite a bad place…
How to batch convert to 2MB files? Hello everyone, I am currently storing my photos in two ssds–one primary and another as backup. As a secondary backup, I was looking into online storage options. Most of them are very expensive and I do not want to invest in monthly subscription. Many camera manufacturers offer some sort of storage. This storage is unlimited for 2MB JPEG files….

Software in addition to LrC? I’ve been using Lightroom mobile but finally was able to upgrade my laptop enough to where I’m starting to use LrC. I was thinking of getting Topaz to utilize in conjunction with it – mainly for the Denise and enhance features – but I’ve been seeing mixed things on Topaz lately (software updates, pricing, going more cloud based, etc.). Is it sti…

Photoshop for photography? I mostly use Lightroom only as of now, and only go in Photoshop if I need to remove stuff, fix banding or add the Orton effect. Am I missing out on something for not knowing Photoshop? What Photoshop functions should I learn for photography? What do you use Photoshop for in your photography? Where do I start? submitted by /u/Holiday_War4…
Where can I find unprocessed infrared photography samples? I am getting more comfortable with using lightroom, and now I want to experiment with infrared photography. The problem is that I don’t have a filter for this yet, so I am limited to experimenting with others’ samples. I was only able to find one or two websites with a very small number of samples that were not edited, so I want to know if anyo…
