Capture clip for Christmas for a dslr owner ?

Capture clip for Christmas for a dslr owner ? Hi all ! I wanted a couple of opinions on buying a capture clip for my boyfriend who has a Canon 5D (I think…). He’s a semi professional photographer, and I’d normally avoid photography gifts, but the capture clip doesn’t seem too “personal”. I did however want to hear 1. How unbalanced it feels generally and 2. people’s opinions on using it w…

Are these photos from my recent Morocco trip too warm?

Are these photos from my recent Morocco trip too warm? I’ve been experimenting with Light Room over the last few months and building filters that I feel work for certain scenarios. Just wondering if these pictures feel too unnaturally warm, or if it fits the elements of the landscape / subjects. I’d like the thought that the photos look realistic but worried they are perhaps too overedited. subm…

Trying to prevent glare on my cutting boards. Can someone help? I’m trying to prevent glare on my cutting boards. I feel like I’ve tried every single angle and I’m still getting this terrible blueish glare, it doesn’t happen so much with my lighter pieces but my darker ones it completely ruins the actual appearance of the board. Does anyone have any tips on this? submitted by /u/ChemicalBake8438

Impact of rolling shutter on photography of moving subjects?

Impact of rolling shutter on photography of moving subjects? So at some point in the nearish future I’ll buy a mirrorless camera (full frame if thats relevant). I’m reading about this rolling shutter effect that can happen because of slow sensor read speeds but I’m lacking understanding. My take away is that this can’t be mitigated by using a faster shutter speed. And if I was to shoot say dancers or peop…

Protective filter for ultrawide lens? Purchased a used Sigma 10 -18 recently. I’m wanting to put on a filter to protect the lens from my general clumsiness. Is it abnormal that my lens moves with the cap on?

Is it abnormal that my lens moves with the cap on? Just got my first camera yesterday along with an RF 28mm f/2.8. When the camera is on, but the lens cap is on, and I tap on or touch the rim of the cap, the lens jerks regardless of what mode the camera is in. Quick Google search says its a lens malfunction and to contact support. Necessary? TIA submitted by /u/gggrumpnbind

This frame around my sensor is moving. It’s obscuring my images. Am I cooked?? I was taking photos yesterday and noticed the shutter sounded different. While editing I noticed black sections along the outside of the frame. I looked at the sensor (don’t mind the dust, I cleaned it after taking the pic) and this frame moves when I physically turn the camera. Is it repairable? submitted by /u/Chingonjabe
