Loose lens rings?
Loose lens rings? I recently bought a Jupiter-8 (Type 4) lens, and the aperture ring is really loose. Is there anywhere I can get it repaired? Or anything I can do myself? submitted by /u/Qwerty_Random

Used DSLR recommendations? Hey all! I’m looking to get a used DSLR, ideally under $300. Use cases will be photographing rocket launches, which will be from ~400ft away, and occasional plane spotting. I’ll be looking for used lenses as well. Thanks in advance. submitted by /u/krushna1
nikon p900 or sigma 150-600 for wildlife photography? I currently have a sony 6400 and am thinking of getting into wildlife photography as an amateur with no expectation of making money out of it. Currently the longest focal length I have is a 200 mm lens, and I was thinking of getting the 150-600 mm lens (probably 2nd hand for ~US$1000). However, I am presented with an opportunity to buy a nikon P…
Light meter app as backup? I have 2 light meters, one takes a battery and is dead, the other is all analog but I’m suspicious of its accuracy. Is there a good (preferably free, no hidden in app fees) that I can use to check the accuracy of my analog meter? For further context, I’m using a Hasselblad, which is a film camera that does not have a meter built in. Thank you!…
Is there such a thing as a camera sensor cleaning solvent? Good evening. New here and this seems like the right place to ask this question. So, I bought this phone 2nd hand about 2 years ago and soon noticed that the main camera sensor had these blotches that are not outside the lens. I tried buying a camera sensor(on eBay…) to replace it but, the one that I bought also had these blotches but, since I…
Gear advice for 1 year trip. Which camera should I get? Hi, my family and I have taken a year off work and will be travelling for around 11 months. The main purpose of the trip is not photography, but I’ve been an amateur photographer for about 10 years. My main camera right now is a Nikon Z7ii which is a great camera, but way too big and heavy for my trip. So I bought a Canon G7X iii and a Sony RX10…
Camera upgrade suggestions? Hi, I need advice on which camera to go for. I previously used the Fujifilm X-T100 and am now looking to upgrade to one of these models: the X-T30 II, Sony a6400, or X-E4. On my X-T100, I only used the kit lens to master the basics before eventually selling it. This time, I plan to pair the new camera with a prime lens right away. I’d appreciate…
Inconsistent flash power in manual? I’m looking for some help please. I was doing some self portraits with a single off camera flash. I had the flash in manual mode at 1/125th 18mm. I was finding that around 50% of my shots came out perfect but the others were extremely overpowered. I can only think that this is an issue with my flash because nothing was changing between taking ph…
PhotoVogue not uploading my pictures? Hello. A few days ago, I created my PhotoVogue profile to submit some pictures. However, a second after I posted them, they did not show in any awaiting approval list or elsewhere, as if I had never uploaded them in the first place. I understood that if the pictures aren’t accepted, the administrators can remove them without giving you notice, b…
$300 for 1hr, and $200 per image…. ??? Im looking to hire my first photographer for a portrait session… I found a potential one, however, I’m not sure if I’m overpaying or if this is a really good deal? She is charging $295 for the one-hour, outdoor session. Then, within the same day, she will present the edited photos I can choose from and that will be $195 per image, or 10 images…

Upgrading from t4i/650D, used EOS R vs 5D Mark III vs 1D X? Hey everyone, I’ve had my T4i/650D for 12 years, and it’s been a really good starter camera, it served me well. I’ve learned a lot with it and in my heart I’m still kinda fond of it, but I’m looking to change it because of the poor low light focusing and high noise starting at pretty low ISO which is a huge pain because it produce really grainy …

Camera for 8 year old? My kid said they would like an actual camera. They think they might be interested in photography. They’ve never had a special interest as of yet, so I don’t want to spend too much but would like to get something decent enough in case they do like it. I’m honestly not even sure where to begin when looking into this. The last camera i had was a So…
is the hyperfocal DOF scale for a zoom placed in 28mm the same for a 28mm fixed prime lens? My electronic DOF scale is not showing correctly on my panasonic S5. F11 at 28mm shows a DOF that is much smaller than my prime lens. Why? submitted by /u/Infinity–

Help me buy my first camera? I have had my Samsung galaxy s23+ for 2 years now and really enjoy taking pictures with it, so I think I’m wanting to buy a camera now. These pictures are my favorite types, night in city’s, cars, people and closeups. What body and lenses would you advise based on these pictures? Thanks so much in advance! 🙂 submitted by /u/Nourdoking
I am interested in the Sony A7iv & a Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 lens. Is this overkill for a hobbyist? I’ve dabbled with older DSLRs and a Canon AE-1 but I think I’m ready for mirrorless. I want a kit that will allow me to print quality poster-size images. Looking to cap my budget around $3K USD. Should I look at other options or is the Sony/Sigma set a good starting point? submitted by /u/RunnerTexasRanger
