LPT: Everyone should get their ssa.gov and irs.gov accounts set up before some fraudster does for you. Title. USA only. You will need to set up an account with id.me first. SSA.gov also allows login.gov instead. As /u/jlhthistle suggested: on irs.gov immediately go and request a PIN for your tax returns. Set it up to do it automatically every year. No one can fraudulently file a return under your SSN without that PIN. Just make sure you use it fo…
LPT Request: How can I make my mouse quieter? I have the Logitech M185 and it is not extremely loud but I worry that it will wake the other people in the house when I click a lot. I heard that a mousepad will help but it is still just as loud. Is there something I can do other than buy a different mouse to make it quieter? submitted by /u/Mincelo

LPT: Don’t rush through tasks when you’re new at a job When you’re new in a role and can finish a task much faster than expected, it’s tempting to turn it in right away. However, it’s a good idea to hold off for a bit before submitting it. This gives you time to double-check your work for accuracy and ensures you haven’t missed any important steps. It also prevents managers from overloading you with…
LPT: Encourage someone to continue their story after an interruption If someone is interrupted while telling a story, make it easy for them to pick up where they left off. Simply say, “As you were saying about (x),” or something similar when the interruption is over. This shows that you valued their words and helps them feel heard, making it more comfortable for them to continue. It’s a small gesture that can mak…
LPT: Whenever you have a full shopping cart online, leave it be for a couple days. You will most likely receive a retargeting discount. Works for most ecommerce businesses! Good way to save some money for things you wanted to buy anyway. ED for definition: re-targeting is a Marketing effort where they track your actions on their website/online shop, and realize they need to “activate” you after you’ve shown inaction. For this to work, you must accept all the cookies on their web…
LPT – if you’re a cyclist that rides in the winter and uses Strava, add the starting temp of the ride (33F) and whether it got colder (33-) or warmer (33+) in the title of your ride and in the private notes, document what you wore and if you were warm/cold/etc. You can also do this in a spreadsheet. I’ve done this for a while after never remembering which gloves to wear when it’s x degrees. The first cold rides aren’t as big a deal any more since I can look for the temps and see what worked last time. I also note how long it took to get warm if that was an issue on that ride. submitted by /u/Couldbeaccurate
LPT: Show, don’t tell—follow through on what you say People respect actions more than words. If you make a commitment, follow through. Whether in work, relationships, or personal growth, being reliable and consistent speaks louder than any promise you make. submitted by /u/ZoeyReynolds23
LPT: When you’re wrong, admit it quickly and move on Trying to defend an indefensible position only makes things worse. Owning up to mistakes shows maturity, builds trust, and prevents unnecessary conflict. People respect honesty more than stubbornness. submitted by /u/IslaWells33
