Buying a house in Costa Rica, seems sketchy... I have toured a house for sale in Costa Rica, the agent on the sign says that they do a private mortgage, with a contract where we have a payment schedule with previous owners, but no bank mortgage involved. This seems like an elaborate scam, but is this in any way normal in Costa Rica for buying a house? Thanks
