If I ordered a ring online from the US shipped to Canada, paid tax on it on arrival, proposed, and my fiancée travels back to the US, does she declare that?
If I ordered a ring online from the US shipped to Canada, paid tax on it on arrival, proposed, and my fiancée travels back to the US, does she declare that? It was originally ordered from the US, so US taxes (AND Canada taxes) were already paid, right? And the receipt would show it's from a US company shipped to Canada. Or am I misunderstanding? I'm not asking about "can you get away with smuggling stuff", I'm asking the actual legal reality of it.
