To take a salary decrease I'm in a bit of a niche role at the moment, earning 43k but no real scope outside my company. I have an opportunity for a role elsewhere - 35k, that will open doors down the line and broaden my horizons in a much less niche industry. I'm not getting the impression they would be open to negotiation but I'm also pretty unhappy in my current place ...
