LPT: have a bowl on the kitchen counter to use as a bin, to save mess I read this the other day and it's obvious but so helpful! I cook a lot, and am forever dropping bits of eggshell, vegetable bits etc on the floor making trips to the bin. Just having a little bowl by your chopping board to store stuff in, then take it all at once, makes everything so much easier.
