Do you think playing a really hated character can hurt an actor’s career? And by “hate” I don’t mean “oh the way X character talks is grating/annoying,” but a deeper kind of audience hate because the character inflicts harm on other characters. I don’t necessarily mean being typecast as a villain. I’ve seen people say horrible things on actors’ Instagram posts because they’re angry about something their character did....
