Is an external SSD with thunderbolt sufficient for smooth photo editing on Mac? Context - photography is my hobby, and I do my editing on my MacBook Air M1 2020 8GB RAM. Nothing fancy, I enjoy the jpegs out of my Fuji xt20 with limited editing. Currently I have my photos on an external HDD (not enough space on the laptop itself). I’m editing on ON1 Raw.
